This will be the closest count in quite a few years. My picks are:

1. Nathan Buckley
2. Paul Licuria
3. Shane O'Bree

Nick Davis and Josh Fraser will probably be right up there too.

Question: Could there be a tie for first, or is there a countback procedure in place to only end up with one winner?

I think the voting system isn't 3-2-1 but spreads votes over forwards/midfield/backs and rewards consistency over peaks. My spread is

1. Buckley (for the record)
2. O'Bree
3. Rocca

Honourable mentions to Clement and Licuria with Lonie for best first year player. Josh is going to be good but tired halfway through this season and also got pushed around a bit. He did kick winning goals on a couple of occasions but Pebbles kicked major bags when the heat was on (e.g. vs Carlton)and has done O.K. in the ruck too.

My 2005 Copeland tip is

1. J.Fraser (70 goals from CHF and the Norm Smith)
2. A Didak (second in the brownlow too)
3. N Davis ( was a chance until he missed the last three rounds with biting injury from Canberra Kangaroos forward Barry Hall)
Some controversy here-despite Tarrant kicking 107 goals he doesn't get in. Buckley misses out on the Copeland for the first time since 1995.

1. Buckley - more consistent than anyone else
2. Len Thompson, er I mean Josh Fraser - Nick the Pie man watch this boy with three brownlows - All Class, All skill, Pavlich is good, but Rogan is good, better, best - will be dominant ruck in the competition within three years - in other words he rocks. (Plus we don't need Pavlich when we have Rocca, we did need a Ruckman)
3. Licca - good season, fairly consistent, grabbed a whole lot of possesions, does a good job for the coach, that's gotta get votes.

Nick Davis - unlucky to miss out but not consistent enough, will poll well in Brownlow, as will OBree, again consistency the problem.

Pies for Premiers 2002, 3, 4, 5, 6....

I'd have to go with Bucks. He has racked up a heap of possessions as usual, and although it hasn't been one of his best seasons I think he has done enough to take the medal.

1. Nathan Buckley
2. Shane O'bree
3. Nick Davis

Well my heart says

1. Nathan Buckley
2. Shane O'Bree
3. Josh Fraser & Tarkyn Lockyer

My head might tell me something different but at the moment it is too :confused to say anything......Thinking, thinking, surely Rocca and Tarrant should be in there somewhere....

You're dreaming Joffa, dreaming.

Buckley will win it again. He was our best player in most of the games he played, 19 or 20 out of 22, which should be enough for him to win comfortably.

Clement is the real smokey. I do not remember him playing a bad game all year, and he must have been in the votes more often than not.

In third position, well there is a host. Foremost of which is Rocca and Lockyer. My apologies to O'Bree.

1. Licuria
2. Buckley
3. Nick Davis

These 3 stood up when we were down.

Molloy, OB, Rocca, Rogan, Lockyer will come close.

Thanks, Magpie Greg - maybe there'll be a 5-way tie this year, just to show other teams in the competition the depth we've now got at Pieland.
