2024 Season dates & Fixture

Dates for H&A season and finals have been announced.

- Season start will be the weekend of 23-24 March
- Home & away will consist of 21 rounds, with all teams to play 18 matches.
- A competition Bye on the weekend of 6-7 April for a VFL vs SANFL representative clash in Adelaide during the AFL Gather Round weekend.
- Wildcard Round on the weekend of 24-25 August. Format the same as last season
- First weekend of the 2024 Smithy’s VFL Finals Series - qualifying and elimination finals- to be held during the AFL pre-finals bye.
- 2024 Smithy’s VFL Grand Final is scheduled to be played on Sunday 22 September, the weekend before the 2024 Toyota AFL Grand Final.
- VFL 2024 season will have the same 21 teams from Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland who competed in 2023.
- Fixture for the 2024 Smithy’s VFL season will be announced early in 2024

What the fixture is that? According to the one above which is consistent with the AFL / VFL website, the VFL Pies play 1 out of the first 7 matches at home, and only play 8 games at home in total out of 21 rounds (3 byes).

The date & time for the Buuldogs game has been confirmed:

Friday 31 May @ 4.05pm. Venue Marvel Stadium.

Curtain raiser for the AFL game later that night.

Im still disappointed that we're not playing certain teams and not playing at certain venues.

I have a visitor from the UK staying with us at the moment and he wants to see all the local grounds. Of course this is the year we're not playing at Port, Willy, Werribee, etc.
