Speaking of protest, here's an interesting approach:

Why does he have to make this a particpatory experience? Couldn't he just threaten to top himself - or burn his own art? It's an evil response - and no less so because none of those making any decisions about Assange's future will actually give a flying f^&* about the fate of these artworks. It's just "look at moi!" bullshit of the worst order.

Agree completely.

Instead of putting the art in the safe with the deadmans switch, sit in there himself

Anyone still reckon protest and other political pressure doesn’t work?

These are governments that were encouraging Israel to do whatever it felt it needed to go three months ago. Of course it remains to be seen whether this will have any impact on Israel’s actions.

That's not an accurate characterisation of the position taking by these three countries previously.

This is naive, David. These governments are cynically voicing impotent appeals to Israel to be "kind", knowing full well that Israel will ignore them totally since Israel has the full backing of Genocide Joe. (Genocide Joe, let it slip himself that Israel's genocide in Gaza was "our" operation).
The protests have simply convinced these governments that they need to change their rhetoric to deflect the seething anger and disgust in vast sections of the population. Mere protest will not change the policy of these governments. What is required is a general strike to block the shipment of arms to Israel, to close down the armaments factories supplying Israel, to block all airtransport to Israel.

The Egyptian government is building tent concentration camps surrounded by 7 metre walls near its border with Gaza to "accommodate" the anticipated flow of hundreds of thousands of ethnically cleansed Palestinians.

This is old news now. People are getting bored of this, as they are the Ukraine conflict. They've moved on to other things and war and death has now become the norm.

It's a good lesson in human sensitivity to things. How much exposure to horror is needed until humans ceases to really care anymore?

Do protests still attract anyone.
Clearly you aren't paying attention. The protests are still massive globally.
The exposure to horror constantly being streamed out of Gaza by journalists of immense bravery are radicalising the entire population of workers and young people who reject genocide as a perspective for the future.

Yes it is. You need to decode the lying, hypocritical rhetoric.
They first mention the Hamas attack, thereby implying that it was the "cause" of this genocide, and that the violence of the oppressed Palestinians is somehow morally equivalent to that of the oppressor, the monstrous, industrial violence of the militarised Israeli state.
Therefore, they proclaim Israel[s "right to defend itself" (where no such internationally recognised right even exists, since Israel is illegally occupying the West bank and has Gaza under a military siege).
The weasel words about "concern for civilian deaths" are the necessary camouflage for their total support for Israel's genocide.

Israel has just sabotaged civilian gas line infrastructure in Iran in a major escalatory provocation.
Destroying civilian infrastructure in another state is an act of war.
Yet another stage in the attempt by Israel - on behalf of its master, the US- to expand the conflict into a war against Iran.

If I were an Israeli citizen right now, I'd be asking myself if I'd been coerced by my government into a mass suicide pact that I never agreed to.
