Alex de Minaur got one back on his Australian Open conqueror Andrey Rublev, winning their quarter-final at the ABN AMRO Open on Saturday morning (AEDT).
In another tight encounter, the 11th-ranked Aussie won 7-6(5) 4-6 6-3 in two hours, 34 minutes to reach the semi-finals of the ATP 500 event in Rotterdam.
The result was the reverse of the Australian Open fourth-round classic last month. which saw Rublev advance in five sets.
De Minaur will now meet world no.13 Grigor Dimitrov in the semi-finals, with the Bulgarian in solid form recently, reaching the final of Marseille last week.
