Everitts worth to the team
Just wondering how much better we would be with a quality ruckman like everitt. I reckon hes worth at least 3 more wins alone

He's expensive and the Saints don't really want him anymore, he's already said he wants to leave, so they want to get rid of him.
At the start of trade week they would have wanted a bit for him, but with his high price tag they might be happy with someting less, considering it's that or have to keep him for another year, and pay im big money for another year.
I think a ruckman (McKee) and a first round pick may just be enough to get him, that would give them three first round picks (1 from Collingwood and 2 from Sydney) plus their two, if they don't trade them (which they might, maybe for Black). Any team has to be happy with five first round draft picks in this deep draft!!
Pies for Premiers 2002, 3, 4, 5, 6....

In terms of this byear, I have no doubt we would have been in the finals and I suspect top 4. That is a world of difference to 9th. To be a realistic premiership chance we have to have a competitive ruckman.
I don't much care about his salary - I would match what he is on in an instant with our salary cap and current committments. What is more relevant at the moment is who we would loose to secure him.
As Spider is under contract, the Saints can hold him. We have to convince them to trade. If they cannot get under the salary cap with the recruits they are chasing, then we have a strong bargaining position. Not many clubs which Spider would go to would be able to afford him.
In short, we should do everything we can to convince Everitt to come to Collingwood and then to convince St.Kilda to do a trade which doesn't sacrifice more than our second draft choice and some "surplus" players like Dimma, Scottland (who wants a trade), Lane, Freeborne, McKee, Tuckey etc.
