You know last year Geelong was the oldest team in the comp. They had a premiership hangover. This year they are rejuvenated and are back. Chris Scott is a good coach and they've been lucky to find some real gem players with high draft picks (because their success has meant they've never scraped the bottom of the barrel). So how is it year in year out they give their fans full value? The Swans are the same.

What is wrong with our culture? Are we in danger of becoming the next Carlscum (and they are back now with a chance at number 17) or Essendoper? Do nothing for the next 20 years living off a fluke premiership.

Take the win and hopefully regroup after the bye, but I won’t be celebrating this one too hard.

A wins a win, and that is all that will matter tomorrow.
But clearly, we need to do something different to be a factor this year.
Moore needs go forward, for one. The fact that he is struggling done back makes this easier.

Any chance Mihocek and Bobby Hill started to work as though they belonged to the same team? Mihocek might consider not trying to outmark three opponents and bring the ball to ground. Hill might consider enough of the speccies and start behaving like a small forward, crumbing the ball that Mihocek brings to ground.
Lipinski is a passenger - for a bloke running around the middle of the ground he gets not near enough ball. Won't mark, can't kick.
Big fan of McCreery but he's not getting enough ball.
Cox cannot win a ruck free but gets pinged too often. Need to find someone else to work with Darcy Cameron.
If you used to barrack for the 'Pies, you never barracked for the 'Pies.

5 easy misses in the last, that’s what let them back in the game.
Always struggle against this mob.
Lucky in the end to hang on.

It was not a fluke
We need to hangout up and we need height.
And some if our players look like they need a kick up the arse
Moore has been shocking, so Howe looks old
Beau did nothing, cox gets pushed off the ball.
Butwh6 why why bomb in when we couldn’t buy a mark?
We need a bloody big genuine KPP forward

That was a horrible second half.I have nothing good to say about it,so I won’t say anything.Except to agree with others in that it almost feels like a loss.

Commentary was barracking as hard as they could then into the Bounce with Gazey and Dunstall have gone full English nuffy and claiming moral victory.
The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after.

6 goals up and and I think we all knew we'd put the cue in the rack and watch us slowly bleed out. It is quite predictable really. We just CANNOT put a team away. The last qtr was akin to 30 min sitting in a dentist chair.

Why can't we put the foot on the throat? Game management madness has taken over the club.

We sure know how to hold onto a lead, I'd just wish we would learn to extend a half-time lead as the game goes on.
We mentally retired for the break a tad early, and nearly got spanked.
End of the day, it's a win. 2-3 is much better than 0-3.

I agree with all of that, especially about needing a KPF desperately.Unfortunately,we only have one genuine one at the club, and he’s going to miss most of the season.

Apologies. In the last chaotic minutes, I somehow deleted all the stats.

I can tell you Jordy topped the AF count, with 135. Mitch scored 113 and Josh, 110. Cameron was next, with 109. Nick earned 95 points.

Disposals: Jordy 31, Josh & Mitch 30.
Donny.

It's a game. Enjoy it. :D

Did my votes. Basically the back line. Forwards are not working hard enough but delivery from the midfield is rubbish.
Mids - If he's out the back, kick it long.
Fowards - Assume it's going to be a rushed kick or under pressure and likely will fall short - so play in front. Big blokes go for mark or bring it down to ground, little blokes wait for it to come to ground.
Basic forward play 101.
