I'm glad someone else noticed it. On top of his comments against us, he also insulted GWS last week claiming they "let a Premiership slip" last year.Magpietothemax wrote:Will be interesting to watch Lyons in his presser. So cocky in his presser against us, when he suggested that all other teams had worked us out.
I wouldn't be surprised if he cried to Caroline Wilson about Fly's lack of praise for St Kilda hence her Arrow segment on Footy Classified the week after our Round 2 match claiming some weren't happy with Fly's comments.

The comment about GWS letting a Premiership slip is more another attack against us than on GWS - suggesting that we were lucky to win the flag.Lyon is such a flog, and I am happy his team was crushed tonight, not just because he iis such a flog, but mainly because it will make our guys really angry that they could have lost against such an ass of a coach and such a mediocre team.Jezza wrote:I'm glad someone else noticed it. Just watching Lyon now in his presser. The big slug said: "I don't want to use excuses,.....BUT it is our second four day prep..." Um....you just did use an excuse.
Actually looked drunk during the presser.
His constant excuses are just contemptible.
It is so important to appreciate how Fly's refusal to grovel in excuses uplifted our team and made a flag possible. Watching Lyon now, it is clear that his main priority is to save his own ass, and not to drive forward the team.
"We knew they are a very capable team...we knew how they played...they had a couple of very good players out (Ugle-Hagen, Liberatore) that everyone respects...we lose King [ another excuse], but coming here, I thought, they've got backs against the wall, they're off a six day break BUT our accumulative load, our experience and our youth, the physiological demand is extreme, and that was the worry...we played last week probably the best ranked team in the competition [GWS] and we went right to the end, so.... I don't want to make excuses, because I want to give credit to the Bulldogs, BUT ...there were alot of mitigating circumstances''
This presser was a humiliating debacle. It was a contemptible series of excuses for an appalling onfield performance.
I am just whitehot angry that we lost to this team and its pathetic coach.

The Round 2 defeat is annoying. I can recall on the night of the game thinking to myself that we lost that game ourselves rather than St Kilda producing anything impressive which made them standout amongst the pack.Magpietothemax wrote:I am just whitehot angry that we lost to this team and its pathetic coach.
Lyon's arrogance and smartarse comments in recent weeks have rubbed me up the wrong way as I highlighted above. He's a protected species in AFL media circles, so I doubt he gets much scrutiny compared to what Beveridge experienced in the past week.

As i said both saints and dogs arent much at all and the game could have gone either way.
just surprised on how soft the saints were and how easy the dogs scored its goals.
Was a really bad game as well.
Marvel was only half full and a poor turn out.
not sure on tonight either.
For some feeling i think essendon can just get over the crows at AO.
I wouldnt surprise me.
