It will be a source of fascination to see how our forward line functions without Mihocek, Elliott and Schultz. A real opportunity for some of our youngsters to step up and show us what they're capable of. The concern would be whether the Eagles might dominate us aerially with Barrass and McGovern, similar to what happened 2 years ago when they defeated us in an upset.
I don't mind shifting Howe forward because of his previous experience in that part of the ground and it's shown it can work as last year's match against Carlton demonstrated. I just hope moving him up forward doesn't leave us structurally out of whack down back.

We're lucky Yeo and Watermen are out of the Eagles side due to injuries. They've been a pivotal part of the Eagles improved form over the past month, so that cancels out the absentees we have this week.

The Marvel factor always leaves me a little nervous, given it's not officially our home ground. The sample size is small, but we have a 50% winning record there under Fly (3 wins, 3 losses) so it's something to keep in mind compared to our much higher winning % at the MCG.

The equation is simple. Win this and we'll be in the top 8 (either 7th or 8th depending on the Essendon-GWS result today).

While our winning percentage at Marvel ain’t great, it’s still a lot better than the Eagles away from home this year. They simply haven’t won away to date. Their BEST effort away from home has been a 26 point loss to Swans in Mt Barker ( Gather round )

They don't respect our forward line? Go ahead with your dumb ideas, Wet Toast...
Copycat our move of Howe to the forward line, why not.

West Coast assistant coach Luke Webster says the Eagles have considered swinging a key defender forward to try to disrupt Collingwood’s defensive structure. The Eagles will head into their clash against the reigning premiers without their leading goalkicker Jake Waterman (concussion) as well as co-captain and leading spearhead Oscar Allen (knee). This means that veterans Jack Darling and Jamie Cripps will lead an inexperienced attack against a Collingwood defence led by premiership captain and dual All-Australian Darcy Moore, who has established himself as one of the best backmen in the league.

Asked if they would send one of either Tom Barrass or Jeremy McGovern forward, Webster told ABC Radio: “Certainly we’ve spoken about it.

Big opportunity presents itself with some results going in our favour this week.
If we win, we'll jump into 8th with Fremantle dropping out. Further to this, we could be half a game behind 4th spot.

^To be fair. I’m not sure anyone respects this week’s forward line.

It will pose interesting selection dilemmas next week if one of our makeshift forwards kicks 5 or 6 goals.

Lack of respect is precisely what this forward line needs to stand a chance.
