Sounds like JDG and Schulz back in but we have 3 outs in Harrison Bytel and Howe so still need to find 1 more
Johnson seems logical choice really can play either end of ground and at can leap and be a target up forward with McInnes.
Don’t think we should be disrupting our defence this week given the potent targets the crows have. So moving a Frampton forward doesn’t make sense to me.
Dean apparently went well in VFL but can he play forward ?
He said checkers got through training well but Mitchell wouldn’t lay foot is still an issue.
Separately:
Interesting comment about Ed Allen by fly at his presser saying he’s the fittest bloke in our list and his GPS numbers for meters covered and burst running.
Seems he and Harrison will be fighting for a wing spot sooner or later.
Wondering if Harrison could be used up forward and McCreery moved into the middle more giving us more spend around the ball.
Time will tell I guess

Fly presser.
JDG ok to play
Ditto Shultz
HH , Howe and Bytel not

Reading between the lines when Shultz mentioned I suspect Fly not happy with his action that received suspension
IMO he felt it was team disruptive

Fly will want a tall to bring the high ball to ground. That suggests Kreuger is more likely for a recall than Ash, unless we bring in Dean, play him back and put Frampton forward?

With DeGoey declared fit to come back into the team my selection choice is changed to;
B:Maynard, Frampton, Dean
HB: Quaynor, Moore, Sidebottom
C:, Lipinski, Pendlebury, J.Daicos
HF: Shultz, McInnes, Richards
F: Hill, Hoskin-Elliot, Degoey
R: Cameron, Crisp, N.Daicos
IC: Noble, Markov, Macrae, Cox
Sub: Sullivan
I'm sure the club is very keen to get Ed Allan into the team asap to see what he can do at the AFL level but it's proving hard to break into this side's on-ball squad, even with the rash of injuries over the last couple of weeks. The fact that coach "Fly Macrae" spoke about Allan being the fittest and best game day runner at the club at his presser today makes me think that Allan is very close to making his debut.

After listening to Fly's presser, I suspect there'll be no promotion (this week) of Allan. JDG could find himself used as a forward for much of this game, given our midfield success in the previous couple of weeks.

Outs: Howe, Bytel
Ins: JDG, Schultz (sub)

Shultz won't be a sub. Sullivan or Richards will be

I think Harrison might be sub. Looks like he will get up. Howe and Bytel the only outs. Backline stays settled (from last weekend anyway) and everyone else rotates through the middle, wings and forward flanks. McInnes, Hosko and Cox the key targets forward.
It's never as good/nor bad as it seems...

Surprised Ash didn’t even make the emergency list.
Our forward line look’s really small!
Wouldn’t want to be bombing it in there!

Smallest forward line yet. Bring on the long bombs!
No idea how we’ve decided playing shorter is better on the MCG. Have faith in the coaches so can’t wait to see their method and the madness it entails. Maybe Schultz is going to carry Richards on his shoulders

Charlie Dean very rough not to be named this week. Obviously the pies have faith in Frampton down back. I’m not clear who will play on Adelaide’s third tall

With McInnes, WHE and Cox (for most of his game time), we have sufficient marking power up forward imo. I also expect JDG will spend half his game time as a forward.

After Ash’s first few games this year I suspect he is only nominally on the list. I think his play in those first few games this year was a big part of the reason we lost them. Continually going forward to a target who lost every contest and rarely impacted the aftermath meant that we were leaking like a sieve out of the forward line.

Something major would have to change in his presence as a footballer, for him to be recalled. hopefully his steint in the back line will reinvigorate his career, otherwise it is only heading one way.
