Feeling good about this clash with the purple lot at freo.
Keen to see the next generation and the kids. Exciting times. A vision to the future.
i think we have the team and the kids to beat the dockers and a good time to bond and kids like to do that and build a nice rapport.
Pies win by 18 points.
Got a good record at optus and kind of like the other mcg.

Good luck with that Freo...
And don't forget to counter Fly's system.

Going to need Checkers and McCreery to play. If they don't, it leaves us playing too many VFL players. At some stage, it'll will catch up to us.

I am a bit skeptical about some of these newbies.
Hope I am wrong.

Absolute garbage, Richards and Harrison have been great, as is Sullivan,McInnes has done well, and from what I hear young Allen could be anything. Enjoy your glass half empty mentality, on your own. :o :o

We desperately need Cox to play a good game and kick a couple of goals.

None of your quoted players has done anything yet.
Richards had one good half.
The rest nothing much. We wIll see how they go.
You need 30 to 50 games to really judge a player.
You cant just grab rookies and late picks and expect a silk purse.
We have done better with these types of players than any other team.
But sooner or later you will fall off the cliff just like Richmond did.

The reality is that these young blokes are coming in and filling a role in the absence of established players. Some probably won’t make it long term and some will. But that is what depth is all about. In the meantime we are banking critical 4 pts with every win. The bonus is that they are getting vital big time experience. Some will get forced out when the experienced players return and some might prove mighty hard to shift. It all bodes well for the back end of the season and finals. No team has ever taken the same starting line up into a GF in successive years. These forced changes might be a blessing in disguise. You have to play the hand you’re given. The way our club has recruited over the last few years and the way we’ve used non-conventional ways to get talent into our club is enviable. Go back to Mason Cox, look at who we brought into the club last year i.e McStay, Frampton, Markov etc. and fast forward now to Parker. They know what they’re doing.

I agree with all that Damien.

Fwiw, I am very confident that of our 'newbies', Richards, Harrison and Allan will have long careers with us. Who knows, maybe Sullivan, Parker and Macrae will also. Only time will tell, but the exciting thing is that they are getting opportunities to showcase their talent at senior level and gaining valuable experience.

Parker is a gun, absolute steal by Collingwood getting him as a rookie and after Friday night they’ll be ready to offer him a lifetime senior contract.
If he chose footy he’d have been in the 2020 draft and he’s definitely a much better player than our first pick that year.

Be patient with Parker at AFL level. Seemingly has never done a proper football pre-season based on Nickster comments in the Parker thread and the Sutherland article on SEN this morning.

He's going to have moments that we will get excited about. If he can last 4 AFL quarters at this stage that will be an amazing start.

Big upside for this kid!
Ed Allen kicked our last goal of the year at the 58minute mark of the last quarter

Really excited to see Allan play. If he's got half his Dads ability, he's going to be a star.

His old man was a gun. Before he debuted with Hawthorn ('90) he played in 3 consecutive Grand Finals for Claremont, winning a Simpson Medals (WAFL equivalent of Norm Smith) in their Premiership over South Fremantle in 1989.
He is also only the second person to win 3 Simpson medals in succession, the other being Barry Cable.
He was inducted into the WAFL hall of fame in 2012.
Don't count the days, make the days count.

This is going to be an interesting game.
We have so many players with under ten games combined with approx 16 premiership players.
The new players into the team so far have looked comfortable, capable and fit.
The premiership players we are missing are mostly confined to the forward line so can a good midfield and defence make up for it.
Fremantle have been up and down and kicked 4 goals 12 behinds after halftime last week at Marvel against the saints. The Freo team have plenty of good players. Playing at home with a chance to beat the reigning premiers we can expect a hard game.
If we win this it will scare the competition.

Was feeling a little nervous at the beginning of the week but my confidence in the boys is growing as the week progresses.
Us by 4 goals.
