McFly on JdG:
"He's got a fresh injury, he's got an abdominal strain. He got that in the game and played through it and pulled up quite sore from it. He's getting scans now to check out what that means.
"We tried to give it some time just to see how it was going and he obviously didn't get through it (training) and then went off for scans. We'll find out a bit more how deep it it is."
...
"No, this is a separate injury.
"Actually the other one has sort of settled down and this has expressed itself as an abdominal injury.
"It's nothing to do with OP. We actually worked through that process of assessing it wasn't OP or the start of that."

When he kicked that goal from 50 late in the first I remember thinking he looked a tad proppy after it, I reckon that's when the injury occurred. Being wary of reinjuring the groin and he's adjusted his kicking action a little and BAM.K wrote:McFly on JdG:

^ Fly mentioned that Howe is a possibility of returning for the Bulldogs game.
If Reef has recovered well from his concussion, he should be available given he'll have surpassed the 12-day requirement.

What's longest injury-free run of Kreuger's?
3 weeks in the VFL, I think
If we pick him and he gets thru the game playing well, that'll be an achievement.
It's now or never.

We’ll be struggling to field a team at this rate.
https://x.com/JoshGabelich/status/17949 ... gr%5EtweetMason Cox has been ruled out for 6 weeks with MCL injury. Joe Richards has a foot fracture and won’t return before Rd 16. Brody Mihocek to miss 2-4 weeks with hamstring strain. Jordan De Goey out for another month. Full details on @AFLcomau

Our mounting and prolonged injury toll has severely dented our hopes of a top 4 finish. Sure, it's still possible, but it's now looking less likely. Nevertheless, if we can get most of our A team up and about by the end of the h & a season and finish in the 8, we are capable of winning the flag from there.

I agree. This team has the mental strength and the self-belief to win the flag from outside the 4. That is what this season is proving. Despite a catastrophic injury load over the last 2 to 3 weeks, the team has found ways to win or at least refuse to lose.RudeBoy wrote:Our mounting and prolonged injury toll has severely dented our hopes of a top 4 finish. The injury crisis continues to deepen, and there must come a tipping point where the loss of personnel overcomes the resilience and the total commitment to a system. With the loss of Joe Richards as well as Cox and Checkers, the tipping point may well arrive as early as next week. But this team is as pyschologically tough as they come, and whatever the result this game is another opportunity for this team to further demonstrate its mental strength and a further opportunity to practice the system based strategy that is knitting this team together. I likewise think Top 4 will be extremely difficult, given that our injury list will not likely dissipate for another 5 to 6 weeks, but Top 8 will not be beyond us, and from there I think no one should put limits on what this team can achieve. It is a champion team in every sense of the word. A team which is far greater than just the sum of the individual players' abilities.

Collingwood wishes to advise an Injury and Health update ahead of the Club’s Round 12 match against the Western Bulldogs.
TO BE ASSESSED THIS WEEK:
Jack Bytel is expected to return from the AFL’s concussion protocols after sustaining a head knock during Collingwood’s Round Nine match.
The midfielder is expected to be available for Friday night’s Round 12 match against the Western Bulldogs, pending he gets through main training on Wednesday.
After sustaining a minor groin strain in Round Nine, Jeremy Howe has been cleared from his rehab program.
The 33-year-old is expected to be available for Friday night’s match if he completes main training on Wednesday.
OTHER UPDATES:
Aiden Begg has been added to the AFL Inactive List after sustaining a posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) injury during Collingwood’s Round Seven VFL match which left him sidelined for the remainder of the season.
The 21-year-old will focus on upper body weight training for the next few weeks.
Josh Carmichael continues to work through the AFL’s concussions protocols.
Mason Cox has entered the AFL concussion protocols following a knock to the face mid-air during Collingwood’s Round 11 match against Fremantle.
In addition to the concussion, scans have confirmed Cox sustained a Grade 2 medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury from the match.
The 33-year-old is expected to return in six weeks’ time while he rehabilitates the MCL injury.
After experiencing groin awareness during Collingwood’s Round 10 match against Adelaide, further assessment revealed Jordan De Goey sustained an acute rectus abdominal tendon tear.
The 28-year-old is working through his rehab program and is expected return within three to four weeks.

The 31-year-old continues to complete treadmill and bike work away from the group.
Elliott is expected to return between Rounds 13 and 16.
Josh Eyre is progressing well through his rehab for a hamstring injury. After a 14-week layoff, he will now complete group training this week.
Eyre is expected to be available for a return for Round 13.

Dan McStay is progressing well as he continues to work through his ACL rehab. The 28-year-old has returned to contract training drills away from the main group.
He is expected to return to match play training post the team’s BYE in June.
During the final minute of the third quarter of Collingwood’s Round 11 game against Fremantle, Brody Mihocek experienced hamstring awareness which saw him sit out the rest of the match. Scans have confirmed a minor hamstring strain in the same area as his previous injury.
Being a minor strain, he’s expected to return between Rounds 14 and 16.

He is expected to be available for Rounds 13-16.

Doubts now circling re Pendles:
According to Mitch Cleary on X, he has been in hospital today for scans on his biceps:

(as if it couldn't get any worse - it just did.)
