Collingwood Father Son and NGA Radar
Moderator: bbmods
Has Mick's son spent any time with our Magpie Academy? This is usually a sign that we are planning to select him as a father/son recruit.
If he is already averaging 25 disposals and a goal a game, as a 17 yr old, then he may well be a gun player. If he has inherited half the smarts and skills of his old man, then we could well have another Nick Daicos in the offing.

We’re going to need draft picks and points to get McGuane done in 2025 draft. I’m looking at you Derek Hine, need to sort this out early.
What are our chances of drafting Luke Quaynor this year? Do we have to wait until pick 40before we can match a bid?

Ed Allen kicked our last goal of the year at the 58minute mark of the last quarter

Saw him today on the stream. A bit of ball-watching at times. He was also physically pushed out of the contest too easily. It was his first game and depending on the level he has been playing VFL can get you unaware. I would give him a few more games before making the call.stui magpie wrote:^
Having watched some of Luke in the VFL today, I don't think we'll need a high pick if we actually take him.

The Suns will have dibs, but would be amazing if he became a Pie.

Isaac Quaynor’s younger brother Luke
As AFL Media’s Cal Twomey doesn’t expect Luke Quaynor to be a first-round pick like his premiership-winning brother was, Collingwood would be able to land the left-footer if no club bids on his services before pick 40 under current NGA rules.

Clubs with NGA-linked prospects aren't able to call on their priority access until after the 40th pick in the National Draft.

In each year, each Club must lodge with the AFL details of the NGA Players in the Club’s Next Generation Academy.
Where's our list? How are we meant to track progress of players coming through if our Club don't publish the list.
The Yarra Junior Football League is part of our development zone, yet no info is readily available re our project players as potential draftees or whether they've made Rep squads.

It's 2024, and our Club website remains a VHS equivalent in a digital age.
Our NGA 'zones' are illustrated within the following~
https://www.afl.com.au/discover/competi ... y-programs
I'd like to know if we had any indigenous players that have made The Flying Boomerangs, namely the 25 most talented Indigenous players selected from the Kickstart Championships.
Another example is the 2024 AFL Under 16 National Championships have just been played. Did any of our NT NGA feature?
And in case any of you say that it's not of interest, NB there was a B. Barwick playing for Tasmania. Another Barwick, AFLW's Brooke Barwick was recently drafted by Western Bulldogs While I suspect it's surname only, might a son of Doug be playing that we've overlooked?
