Poor Josh that's another horrible turn of events re players with concussion. I wonder if Wade's injury review will change this week as for the first time in 5 weeks Josh as listed as being in the concussion protocols.
Carmichael has been under concussion protocols since mid May.
Was on the injury list prior to the Crows game with delayed concussion, working through AFL protocols. Has been listed as concussion since then.

We can beat the Dogs. We can beat the Roos. Dees, dunno.
I was thinking about this comment all game.

Well, we went 2-1.

Getting a wave of players back for the Suns, with JDG ready to go by the Essendon game.

The bye came at a good time.

Getting Pendles and Checkers back will significantly strengthen our team.

Obviously, JDG would be a great inclusion as well, but giving him one more week to get his body right to face the Bummers might be the plan. Likewise, re Richards, who been our most impressive debutant this year.

All in all, we seem to have weathered the injury storm we faced, and hopefully will be able to field a stronger side in the weeks to come.

Gee kid may have to abort the game

These concussions are becoming more frequent in a game no where near as physical as when I began watching

The hard nuts in those days took no prisoners
I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right

The game is faster nowadays and the grounds are also harder and so heads that hit it faster leads to more concussion. Also AFL now is super conscious of brain disease caused by concussion whereas this was not known in the 80s and 90s to the same extent.

Pies pair to miss...

Collingwood duo Beau McCreery (calf) and John Noble (concussion) are unlikely to face Essendon on Friday night.

McCreery was subbed out of Saturday's loss to Gold Coast with a calf complaint, while John Noble was sent for a head injury assessment (HIA) and subsequently entered concussion protocols.

"COLLINGWOOD will be without John Noble for Friday night's blockbuster against Essendon, while Beau McCreery is also expected to be sidelined with a calf strain.

Noble has entered the AFL's concussion protocols after undergoing a head injury assessment in the fourth quarter of the 11-point loss to Gold Coast on Saturday.
...

Jamie Elliott (vascular), Mason Cox (knee) and Tom Mitchell (foot) are all at least a fortnight away or up to a month from returning.

Mitchell hasn’t played since Anzac Day due to a lingering plantar fascia issue, which required surgery at the start of June.

Dan McStay is back in full training and closing in on a return to playing after recovering from the knee reconstruction he underwent last December.

The key forward doesn't have a clear return date but is likely to play some minutes in the VFL later this month."
