Win the next six games.
Finish Top Four.
Win first semi final
Week off
Win Preliminary and Grand Final
Relax...
No team will want to play us in September- if we are in.... we win.
Love your optimistic outlook, Lad
I think if we're playing finals, we need to win at least 4 of our last 6 games.

Ideally we would finish 8th
Essendon finish 5th
we defeat essendon in the first final and continue their finals drought
we play freo in perth and and win into a prelim
play carlton at the G and win, and go into the GF against Sydney and flog them
I can live with that WW69.

I just think that Collingwood will fire up for this game and surprise the Hawks and the feral Collingwood hating journos, winning by 10 points or more. Nothing surer.
I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm
Cox and Howe certainties. Wouldn’t have thought McStay gets up, another week given Cox is back underdone.
Reading JDG is battling an ongoing groin. Lose this week and it’s probably worth booking in his surgery early. Of course that means Freo and Hawks lick their lips given we’d have basically paid for Ginivan to go there and paid overs for Schultz but the injuries can’t be helped. Feels like 2019 - 2021 all over again!
The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after.
^ not sure where you got the info? On thr AFL website suggested Mcstsy is much more likely than Cox...Cox seems more likely to be back via the VFL given the injury and time out he has had.
I am an AFL member. This is the message I got from the AFL email and we are the away team. Any other AFL members know if I can still scan my AFL card for standing room ?
"Hawthorn v Collingwood
Saturday, July 20, MCG
This match is fully ticketed with no general admission. An upgraded ticketek ticket is required to attend."
EDIT. My AFL app has let me get a general admission ticket "AFL Reserve/General Admission"
McStay has been given the all clear from the medicos, has hit PB's across a range of fitness drills and said he's the fittest he's been.
Given the lack of real impact our Subs have given us for the past 5 or so weeks, if McStay was going to spend time in the VFL, I wouldn't be against naming him as the Sub. and brought in for McInnes or Cox if either are not hitting the scoreboard / impacting the match.
If he's perceived to be 'at risk' of injury, it won't matter it's VFL or AFL, he'll be better for the run regardless.

I reckon big Dan will come straight into the starting 22, along with Cox and Howe. That should rectify our almost total absence of marking power we've had for several weeks.
^Hawthorn do play a shorter forward structure, so Frampton may have been viewed as surplus. Maynard can soon go to Day and Moore onto Dear.
It'll be interesting if the Hawks keep Sicily forward.
I'm good with our team selection. Our midfield looks well balanced and capable to go up against an in form Worpel & Newcombe. Conor Nash is the one that concerns me, JDG is going to be up against him and that'll be a very physical contest. Ned Long will undoubtedly be used in the rotations against him.
I'm confident we'll see a different and more familiar output come Saturday.
