Firstly, I am delighted that the Magpies have steered clear of insect types- we need pace/grunt and skills in our recruits. Time will tell if the guys drafted foot the bill.

Secondly- I think the new recruiter has the runs on the board to date. Let's hope that we can pick up a reasonable player in the PSD (wen is it BTW?) and rookie Davidson- the kid needs a break.

Finally- at the risk of being a pessimist, I can't see too much immediate improvement on the field, unless all the cattle are up and running from Round One- I have faith in Malthouse and I think he is starting to gather some young blokes to take us back up the ladder- like he did with the Weagles.

I love the Pies and would love nothing better than to see a new dynasty emerge from Lexus Centre- God knows we are LONG overdue!!! This was the whole idea of shifting to Lexus- get in a group of kids- give them the best training facilities and mould them into a great team- NO excuses now.

Go Maggies

One would think that the future has already been decided and that it makes a grejat deal of diference what a kid does before he starts his career.

None of these kids hve played in the ones yet, and NO ONE can know what will happen. Chris Judd was named an AFL superstar before game one. He may, however have been injured, gotten sick, or been caught bringing a kilo of coke into Singapore before that game. Many first picks have been duds and many picks after thirty have turned out to be superstars, (eg:Jimmy Heard). These kids have put themselvesinto the position to get picked early and get a great contract, it's now up to THEM and their clubs, to make actual players out of them. Anyone who claims to know the future is wrong, or if not, perhaps they could email me the results for Flemington next week?

I was a little miffed to miss out on Ellis, but it looks like we went after strong guys who are prepared to work hard, and there is NOTHING better. Lets hope the club gives them the right training and development, and that the rest of us ask nothing more than that they give of their very best.

Personally I would have far preferred to trade picks for a kid like Josh Hunt who has already shown that he has the goods, but thats yesterdays news, I still hope we give Davo &/or Brayden another rookie shot, and that we look after these kids better than we have some of our previous players.

We could have got both Ellis and Thomas at 2 and 5.
Seriously - you're the LAST person whos thoughts we want to hear about. You've been a pain in the arse all friggin morning with your negative CRAP.

Piss off and have some lunch or something.

I wish I wasn't.

I think Pendles will become the best player in the draft. :)

By the looks of things, winning an argument against that muppet is hardly worth celebrating. :)

Wonder if he bothered aliasing up again.

lol so glad this guy "EddieGold" never got anywhere near being involed at Collingwood's recruitment.....or he would have handed Hawks the keys to Scott.....and we would be left with two injured players.
