Time to reward our best players from the VFL, who put in a great performance beating Brisbane. We also need to drop some players, who are not (yet) up to standard, plus a couple whose form has been underwhelming.

Out: Bytel, Long, Parker, Lipinski

In: Macrae, Allan, Richards, Dean

Lewt's smash the Dees and go into our pre-season full of confidence for a stronger, better year in 2025.

Pies by 50 points!

Would be nice to end the season on a high, despite not making finals.

Might be a good time to give DeMattia a debut game.

Problem is the only thing about this game is 3 votes for Daicos. That’s it. Another look at McRae ain’t gonna change him be given to the highest bidder.
Frustrating to end like this but we had our chances + injury.

2 for me :

Dean who just had 17 odd marks, maybe BOG.

Allan who IMO had been flatlining, turned it around in the last few games.

Out Parker, Bytel or Frampton

Random:
Mcrae has had enough games.
Out of his depth against the AFL best midfields. Needs time to take the step or out. IMO

Maybe keeping Parker would be a good thing, I reckon he has now sussed out the pace and another game would top off this year's development, then off to a pre-season in a more positive state.

I’d be disappointed if we can’t finish on a high against this mob. They struggle against us and their midfield has been decimated and May is also out, so there’s no reason why we can’t get it done. The best chance of winning is to play our best team and I doubt if the coaches will waiver from that mindset this weekend. I would like Long to get a full game, just so we can get more of a read on what he brings to the table, otherwise I wouldn’t think there would be many changes to the team.

Definitely we should play Richards in the 22, so he replaces Bytel.
I think Ned Long deserves a full midfield game, so he gets top 22 as well.
Allan to get his first taste of AFL football as the sub, and Lipinski to make way.
I thought Parker was good - showed skill, courage and desperation at several moments. He stays in, and Sidey continues his renaissance as a tagger.
Free Julian Assange!!

Now we can’t make finals I think it’s important we finish the season on the highest note possible
We are handing over our 1st round draft pick to Fremantle so finishing as high as possible makes that pain marginally less
2024 has been a funny season of near misses (2 draws and 2 really close losses we should have won) coupled with injures to key planks who knows what might have been
But it also exposed some massive flaws in our game plan
We need to spend the off season reworking our defence and go away from this zone that gets picked apart easily
We also need to make some decisions on personal and playing positions
Personally I would like to see players like McCreery IQ Krueger Allan Dean and Parker (Richard’s as well if he stays) challenged to work over time and build there tanks and accept the challenge of being up for senior selection every week in whatever position we need them to fill
If Allan is going to be play his best football as an inside mid then train him there. Same goes for McCreery
Krueger can either be back up ruck or a defender (Frampton isn’t the answer) so work with him on that. Same goes for Dean and Parker if there going to be planks in defence going forward train them there all summer (noble has too many limitations and we need Dean to step up and be the Murphy like replacement)
I hope we make some changes to our assistants
Free voices and ideas are always required to move forward

Yup, 3 votes for Daicos to help him win his first Brownlow would be salvaging something from our season. Go Pies!

My requests for the rest of the season.
Coaches and brownow votes for Naicos please.

Lesser games for the other contenders please.

Play the kids, DeMattia, Macrae, McInnes, Allen, Richards and Smit. (Omit / Rest Sidey, Lipinski, Bytel, Cox, Howe, Pendles)

Retire some vets for a farewell MCG game, this might limit spots for the kids though.

No genuine MOTY contenders thank you, Jamie and Bobby to duke it out, Jamie for me.
