From what I remember reading years ago, Peter’s father was a very good soccer player. Peter himself was in line to become a soccer star for South Melbourne before he was drawn to footy. Thank goodness for that

You have an excellent memory and you are right on all counts! Peter also had a brother, Victor Daicos who trained with Collingwood but was nowhere as talented as Peter.
Very sadly he passed away in January 2022.
