Get Stringer and Tomlinson- both plug and play (Stringer mid-forward- plus 40 goals) (Tomlinson the tall wingman we crave)
Get Davies and Peatling- playing for the future midfield- both starting 22.

If we win the flag in 2025, the mass exodus of older guys at season's end '25 will be greatly soothed....
Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away...

Grabbing another flag while the premiership clock is starting to fade is a great plan to make happen before embarking on a youth muster for future glory. Let’s have a serious crack and send our goat Pendles off with a big cerebration 🎉

I feel like we want to get picks in the late teens/early 20s. So it'll be interesting to see if we can get this done. (Fin? Reef? Joe? Noble?)

A bit of small talk here and elsewhere about JDG, IQ, and Hill. Personally, I would not trade these guys and hopefully they're all here next season and beyond.

The talk a few months back about Mitchell reuniting with Clarko at North has gone away. I'd like to see Tom come back and play with us next year. It could depend on what the return is, and if we were adding some of these younger inside mids we've been linked to.

Allan is a keeper for sure. I have high hopes for him next season and beyond.

Ash I think will be swapped for Keane. Are all parties happy with this straight swap? If the Crows arent interested in Ash, do WCE/Freo have any interest? He is contracted to Collingwood for 2025.

I'll be interested to see the clubs plans for Krueger too. I dont think he holds much trade value, but he is an ok option to put in the forward line if we have injuries.

I want to know what Stringer would cost. Is he a DFA? A RFA? A normal FA? Is he signed up meaning a trade would have to take place?

If the cost was minimal, you take him. When he is having an on day, he is the man!

According to Footy Wire, who are generally accurate, he is out of contract in 2024!

I just saw this on the AFL app. I wouldnt want to get into a bidding war over him. But as I said earlier, he is a match-winner and can be HUGE on his day. Of course we are looking for younger players, but if he was in any way interested in Collingwood, I'd be interested to see what trade it would take to get it done.

According to multiple other media, he hit a trigger so he has a contract for 2025 on around $400K and has been told he can either take that, try to renegotiate or try his chances elsewhere. Essendon are playing hardball with him, he wants to stay but could be got cheap for a 3 year contract.

Not entirely convinced on Stringer, but I can be persuaded by others that he would be a good option for us.
I've heard the club approached him years ago back in 2017 (when he was subsequently traded to Essendon), but we were scared off by some off-field issues at the time.

My biggest issue with him is he looks like he's been carrying too much weight for years.
Further, I'd argue he peaked all the way back in 2015 when he kicked 56 goals and was an All-Australian. Since then, he never rediscovered that form.

Personally I wouldn’t go anywhere near Stringer given our list profile but I can understand the short term attraction. I’d say he’s one soft tissue injury away from being redundant and that’s bound to occur next year

Former Magpie president (Eddie) declares Jake Stringer desire

"With Stringer dissatisfied at the one-year deal extension from the Bombers, McGuire has floated the idea of Collingwood making a bold bid to bring the 30-year-old forward to the Magpies."
