Is Ross Lyon overrated?
Am I the only person who has never rated Ross Lyon as an outstanding coach, just a good ordinary one. I was shitting bricks about him getting the Collingwood job before Fly thankfully got it. He regularly makes excuses for the defeats and always has a very high opinion of himself. Not a top coach.

Very fashionable on Nick's to bag him...
But sheesh... Better than e.g. Dimwit Dimma. Folks judge everything on the flags, but flags depend on so much more than the coach.
Dimwit got lucky. Look at what's happened at GC. By his own words, he's failed so far. And by his own words ("80% of premiership team in this room"), winning one flag at GC is just a bare pass. Ross was a teeny weeny bit unlucky at least twice, maybe 3 times (if Freo had kicked straight in the 1st half...)...

^ Ross' game style still doesn't stand up in finals. I stand by that.
Hardwick was propped us by his assistants at the time (e.g. Fly, Kingsley, Leppitsch, Caracella etc.) who constructed the game plan that won Richmond multiple flags.

So he is better at advertising than coaching I’m not bagging him for the sake of bagging but saying that he’s never impressed me as a premiership coach in waiting. Of course I could be totally wrong but that’s how I feel.
