The last time a top 2 H&A team lost by a margin as big as this in their first final was the Bulldogs in 1985 against Hawthorn.

Geelong had 38 scores (20.18) tonight.

The next highest before tonight was 41 scores (19.22) from Sydney in the 2014 Prelim against North Melbourne.

All courtesy of two [yes two] charity games against North Melbourne. Take one of those away, and they fall 5-8 position for an EF instead.
St.Kilda must be vomiting watching this fiasco; they wiped the fkucing floor with the handbaggers what three weeks ago?!
Oh, and remember salary crap doesn't apply to Geebung, because they all play "for unders" to be in a successful squad; yeah "for unders the fkucing table" more like...
shawthing wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 9:20 pmThey do it every year. They never get too old. Watch them waltz to another GF this year.
Hoping somebody else hurts enough or more from 2023 to stop them.
It's all on the back of Dangerflog; he is always the spark - if he doesn't take the field - they lose.

It was appalling to see how innocuous PA were tonight.
If we had played, even with our crippled team (no Checkers, JDG, Mitchell, ) we would have done far better.
It shows a definite fact: some teams have mental strength and a will to win, and others (for whatever reasons), don't.

PA does not.

Geelong does. That flog Scott in fact is a great coach.

I used to think Hinkley was a good coach too. But after tonight, I can see that he is totally floundering. He has not put in place the necessary mental habits and structures required to win a Premiership.

Well port completely shit themselves tonight
Using the newest and most accurate AFL terminology they played like a team of Grundy’s
Cant see them winning next week no matter who they play
There mentally shot
Only question is will Hinkley survive the off season if they go 2 and out

Port have lost their last four Finals, usually by big margins , they are finals pretenders, one hundred percent. Cats were very good, but Port beyond woeful. Hinkley is on borrowed time. Cats will be on a high, but may have played above themselves, against a terrible pathetic opponent, their remaining finals wont be a walk in the park like that one, be very different now. Long way to go yet.

Whenever I think Hinkley is gone he gets another contract. I hope they keep him.

If Ken is able to get involved with Tassie I'd reckon he should jump at it.

Hinkley's CV is looking good for him to be Voss' 2IC at Carlton - or maybe their Director of Football.

One thing that people should keep in mind...2022 Grand Final, Geelong victors by 81 points over Swans. The cats really do love to kick a team when it's down. A big victory means nothing, especially if it's not the last game of the year. Hopefully they've played all their cards and shown all their tricks and whoever they face next will capitalize. I really don't think I can stand the idea of their coach Snott (hated him since his playing days) smugly accepting another cup...

Its all over the news, apparently brat Ginnivan has done it again, out last night before a huge final , spotted in a Pub drinking. Same as he did to us pre the GF. out late at the races. then did jack mother shit in the GF. I wonder how angry little ant coach Mitchell will handle this. ?? I always knew Ginni would cockup again. hes a juvenile walking time bomb. Thank God we got rid of him. !

Next worse thing to Carlton or Dopers succeeding in September [Doomsday scenario...], another geebung vs. whorethorn GF would have me vomiting blood.

I'm praying for an all interstate GF in 2024, as it offsets any other Vic sides advancing on our sweet 16 flags,
whilst we experience what is hopefully only a temporary slide out of the eight....
