Just watched our season review by Riley Beveridge & Kane Cornes that Jezza posted.
Watching the highlights, surely Jamie gets the Mark of the Year. His ANZAC day screamer was a cracker.

^Jeremy Howe was robbed by Cletus Daniher in 2017, which should have been his 2nd Mark of the Year.
For an award for which he has had a league record 35 career nominations, post his retirement surely the AFL right that wrong and rename the award in his honour.

So we have 2 finalists for Goal of the Year (Nick Daicos x2. Harley Reid is the other finalist)

And we have 2 finalists for Mark of the Year (Billy and Bobby. Zane Duursma is the other finalist)

Geez I hope we dont see a repeat of the Jeremy Howe-Joe Daniher debacle.

Nicksters and Pies need to unite everywhere to pick a make and pick a goal and vote them into a win. The last thing we want here is a double bridesmaid. I’m surprised the Bont didn’t get nominated though. Either way Nicksters and pies what’s it going to be?

Similar ball flight in, both pure reads and spectacular instinctive leaps.
Billys was a classic leap with poise taking it at the highest point.
Bobby came from a deeper point and was a head surfing pack mark. The degree of difficulty to be able to against 3 opponents is greater.
I reckon Bobby will get it on countback...

I thought they got rid of the public after the Howe debacle.

Good way to manufacture a win - have 2 nominations from the same club to split that vote and then put up a nomination from a club that people are less likely to hate.
Looks like Reid and Duursma will be the winners this year.

I'd go for Hill over Elliott, just – I think it's the more spectacular mark.

TBH, if I took off my black-and-white glasses, I'd have to go for Reid for goal of the year. But of the two Daicos goals, I'd vote for the one he kicked against Brisbane – the other one's more of a team goal, and these awards are really about individual efforts.

The fanbase needs to reach consensus to ensure we don't split the vote in the MOTY and GOTY.

Isn't it funny now that everyone wants finals games to be included in Goal and Mark of the year. Is it because it's likely that Collingwood will at least win one of the awards?

Well maybe it should include finals. But I dont recall hearing this any other year. Including last year when Bobby took one on top of Starcevich in the GF.

Shit!! A pretty decent mark by Heeney and goal by Cameron over the weekend but they don’t count. I am sure there will be an uproar that it should be decided after finals.
