Possible Trade Scenario
Just a scenario I came up with, a bit complicated, but hey never say never: Wat do u think?
Pies Give O'bree + 2nd Round Pick to Port
Port Gives Freo Josh Carr
Freo Gives Roger Hayden and 2nd Round Pick to West Coast
West Coast Give Wirrapunda to Hawthorn
Hawthorn Give Joel Smith to Collingwood
5-Way trade that keeps roger hayden the West Australian in WA, sends Josh Carr home same with Wirrapunda.
I dont really see any losers in this trade either. as our 2nd round pick will be like 20 something.

Here are some possible options by club:-
Richmond- may have a series of 2nd stringers eg. Chaffey, Tivendale. Maybe a 1 for 1 with some of our expendible 2nd stringers but unlikely to be earthshattering in either direction. The only big fish is Ottens. Richmond is rebuilding and would only accept good young prospects for him eg. (Richards + round 2) or (Morrison+ pick 7) or (Morrison, Fanning + Round 2). The last option could suit both. Morrison would give Richmond an equivalent to pick 4 key position(Willets, Roughhead, Franklin), Fanning could be a medium term replacement for Ottens and they would get a round 2 as an extra. Collingwood has a surplus of future KP players and so Morrison may not be such a big sacrifice.
Another option is Fanning and pick 7 to Richmond for pick 4. This would give Richmond a ruck and thus the ability to trade Ottens with someone else. It would give us pick 4 which would almost certainly get us Tambling (Deledio, Griffen, Franklin =1,2,3) the speedy midfielder many say we need.
Hawthorn:- likely to lose Hay to WA. probably will get Wirrupunda in exchange. In that case Smith who is apperently unhappy could be exchanged for Presti. Both about the same age and quality. Leaves Hawks with Wirrapunda, Presti instead of Hay, Smith gives us smith.
Fly in the ointment is Carlton could offer Witnell on same basis. Witnell or Presti? who would Hawks take?
Other options with Hawks:- same as Richmond, Fanning + 7 for pick 5. Hawks need a ruck to replace Everitt in a year or 2. However is only worthwhile if Richmond is unlikely to take Tambling at 4. If tambling is unavailable, the difference between rounds 5 and 7 is meaningless to us. Another option is, Fanning + round 2 for Crawf. Crawf is a champion but back is suspect and only a couple of year ahead anyway. But if fit, a couple of good years at Collingwood could mean 2 premierships for us. Hawks are rebuilding so a ruck replacement for Everit and a round 2 may suit.
Also maybe a second stringer eg. Lokan for N.Lonie.
North Presti, Shack, O'bree and round 2 for B.Harvey assuming that the whispers that Harvey and Laidley are in conflict are true.
Freo:- Farmer for Williams, Swan, Nixon
Brisbane:-Lynch is almost gone + Brisbane's game is based on 2 power forwards. Can offer Morrison + pick 7 for Notting.
St.Kilda:- Obviously we would like Del Santo or Ball. However this is highly unlikely. As an outside chance can offer Hall, Fanning + pick 7.

How about
Leon Davis for B.Harvey (kangas)
Presti for Smith (Hawks)
Lokan, Swan for Crawford (Hawks)
Obree, pick 7, round 2, Shaks, Crow to Richmond for pick 4 ontraded to Brisbane for Notting. Brisbane would use this for Roughead or Willets to replace Lynch.
THis would net us an additional running group of Harvey, Crawford, Smith and Notting.
No trades with Essendon:- Caracella, Blumfield, Olerenshaw, Jacobs etc. There is a history of too many unsuccessful trades.

No offence ernie but if we took all your trade advice we would finish last next next year. Don't think we can trade fanning anyways as he is a rookie listed player? We don't need to make huge changes to be a chance next year, I think we just need another classy or quick midfielder and we will be right. It's just a matter of getting our best team on the park more often than not and all will be well.

Fanning isn't senior listed, so he can't be traded.Cam wrote:No one will want Fanning.
They will never happen. We may get Harvey but at the cost of pick 7, Smith may come but they won't have Presti and Lokan for Swan won't happen in a million years. We'd have to throw in pick 1 and 2 - which I am certainly not prepared to do.Leon Davis for B.Harvey (kangas)
Presti for Smith (Hawks)

I'd like Dyson but they won't get rid of him. Ben Haynes is a good little player, while there is always Mark Bolton.OB always shreds them and I will bet they could teach MCG to kick correctly as they don't seem to have any bad disposal guys on their whole team.
Who could we get for them ??
We are not getting Farmer!

Farmer fought tooth and nail to be traded back to WA, so there's no way he'll want to come back to Vic. Also, isn't he in his early 30's?
Ottens has mentioned that he wants to be known as a one club player, and thus, prefers to remain at Richmond.
From previous experiences, NEVER EVER trade with Essenscum.
Fanning & Crow - both rookies, and therefore, cannot be used in trade discussions.
