HOPELESS

S Rocca is the most useless wasted unit playing football at the moment.

Collingwood pay him big money to kick goals...and he never looks like kicking any. Not one...not even one lousy goal. When LLYOD from Essenscum had a bad..shocking day against us..he still kicked 5....Sav is a joke. Leave Tuckey in the team for Gods sake and start working out a trade for S Rocca NOW.

How the hell is Sav suppossed to prove himself when he is left on the bench for the whole game!!!! When we need him where is he sittig on the bench surely the coaching staff cant belive that tarrant and mal are the future for collingwoods forward line they are too little sav is a strong body who we need in the forward line not on the friggin bench my god wake up!!!
Have a little faith in sav he cant prove himself and kick the goals if he is sitting on the bench and besides sav gets some pretty ordinalry kicks in he isnt superman he cant mark a ball that is kicked poorly to him..
I stress again HOW IS HE SUPPOSSED TO PROVE HIMSELF WHEN THEY WONT GIVE HIM A CHANCE AND KEEP HIM ON THE BENCH!!!!!!!!!!

dont trade him,,, work with hi mand make him come good....
I know you can do it sav show all these critics the true legend i know you are!!!

DONT GIVE UP ON SAV!!!!

Give him the chance to at least prove himself!!!!!!!

nikki you're so right.. sav is one of the legends of this game whether anyone believes it or not.. just because he's having a rough few games doesn't mean he's "useless" or anything like it, although i do think he needs a week or so in the reserves and we SHOULD bring tuckey back in for a while, he's a major assett to the team.
still i think saying sav is useless is too harsh, i mean think how he used to play, and give him a chance to prove himself once more

Here Here ladies.......Sav cannot be blamed in any way for yet another dismal performance. I have been critical of Sav Rocca at different times over the years, but the fact is he plays one position only, FULL FORWARD!!!! Why bring him back into the team to play him in the ruck for a few minutes and spend the rest of the day getting splinters in his arse? What is Malthouse thinking? If we had a twos game he may have come back via the VFL.

Memo to Mick Malthouse - Either play him up front or leave him out.

Dont you think that Sav has had his chances? We seem to make excuses every year for this bloke. How long is it since he had a good consistent season? Sav doesn't lead anymore. He just stands there and flaps at the ball when it is bombed in. The midfielders have to bomb it in because he doesn't present himself with a lead. I am a fan of Sav but I think he has had enough chances and everybody thinks of how he used to play 3 or 4 years back. He just can't cut it anymore.

The fact that Sav started football at a very late stage, I cannot believe that Collingwood does not have an ex-FF like Brian Taylor, or Peter McKenna teaching him how to play the full-forward position. He needs a lot of support when his confidence is down, so ex-FF's would be able to help him out in getting his confidence back. He seems lost these days and it is mainly because he has lost confidence in his ability, and because of the delivery into out forward line. Furthermore, his knee surgery and his bulky size do not help him.

Dermott Brereton had a huge influence over his game while he was down at Vic Park, but he no longer has people who know enough about the caper and therefore, he gets lost. Why don't Collingwood hire a part-time specialist FF to help Sav out. Surely it would be financially viable to do this because it would work.

the fat lady is serenading sav!! i have stuck up for him throughout the downturn of his career, but guys lets face it. when he actually get the ball, what do all us pie supporters do?? we put the hands over our eyes cause you cant even rely on his kicking. ia m trying to understand micks plan?? stick to the game plan even if it is not working?? how about something real crazy, start bucks on the bench and put rowdy in the centre, sav to the reserves and forget about watson, just for 5 minutes at the start of the game. if the season is written off please please bring back crosisca!!! bucks is still a legend...and have you noticed the ball carrier is not being protected anymore!!!

Its not fair to lay all blame on rocca.
He is out of shape both physically and mentally at the moment. His knee injury gave him virtually no pre-season and hence he really is out of shape and needs to lose several kg's to get down to his optimum playing weight. the delivery to him is poor and things that were happening before around the ground aren't happening as much any more(ie shepherding, running hard to contests etc) so its a general poor performance of the team, not just rocca. As has been said a specialist coach would only be beneficial to Rocca. All the coaching stuff down there don't really know the forward game, malthouse, broadbridge, Laidley and Gotch.
Broadbridge in his days at Swan Districts and East Freo was more a centreman, Laidley and Malthouse were defenders, which may explain some of the early season form of our defence.
