Post by JLC »

Dud Deals :

Brett James (Dual Premiership player ) for Jonathon Ross
Clinton King for Steve McKee

Former Players Doing Well :

Brenton Sanderson
Andrew Schauble
Trent Hotton
Aaron James
Todd Curley
Tony Woods
Jason McCartney

There are others but they are not worthy of a mention due
to their performances thus far.

We have had some good deals ie Paul Licuria, Buckley, Ukovic
I just thought i would point out some of the quality players
we let go for various reasons in the past

Word Up Joffa!!!!

I agree to most of your ex-players doing well however Schauble still has no disposal skill and can't hit a target which creates a turnover as he did at Collingwood. Aaron James hasn't improved much either. He still plays a couple of games in the seniors and then gets dropped to the magoos where he plays well. He will always be a fill in player. Josh Mahoney was also a big loss for us even though he doesn't get much of a run at the doggies. He was good under the packs.

Cheers

The player whose name i will not mention
had guts but lacked skill which along with
other players has let us down in the past.

Take a look at that list again. Two players delisted/traded for disciplinary reasons. One who wanted to go back and play football in Adelaide. Is Sydney really playing better than Collingwood ? Woods and Sanderson have been good (at times) in ordinary teams.

They forced Brett James to go back to Adelaide when he was the type of player we needed. Even if he wanted to go back we should have got someone better than Jonathon Ross. Andrew Schaubles career was stuffed up because they never let him settle down at
centre half back.
The club should have been in a better position to discipline its players.

I see where you are coming from with Brett James but he really didn't set the world on fire at Vic Park. Schable still has no disposal skills so still no good. Six average players do not make a team however. Why have Collingwood been so deficient of genuine game winners over the years ? Because the team was coached by a guy who cared more giving 100 % and then concentrating on skills when he should have been looking for skilled players and them mould their commitment. David Parkin has done it with Whitnall and Koutifides, Blight with Ablett and Hocking Shaw/Matthews with ?????
