The guy just dosen't have the footy smarts to play the game at the highest level. But due to our injuries will probaby still get a game for a bit longer.
Can he ever turn the corner? - NO
Will he be at Collingwood next year? - NO
Can we use him as trade bait? - NO
Another bad recuiting decision.

Unless he kicks goals he will get dropped, and when he gets dropped, unless he kicks goals, and lots of them, at Willi. It will be the end. But if he kicks two or three this week he will get another game.
Get back on top.

Oh don't worry, he will keep his value in tact, we doubt we can trade him now, so even if we waited a few years, he will still not be worth anything.

Unless we find someone that is stupid, and couldn't do a trade deal to save their life. Speaking of which, anyone at Fremantle we want?

Now, he is a nervous wreck, feastering down at Williamstown with his AFL carear slipping down the drain quicker then you can say Go Pies. What does MM do? Leave him in he seniors waiting for him to turn the corner, or leave him at Willi until he can prove he deserves another shot.

Interesting to hear your thoughts?
Surely this topic has been done to death. I think the general concensus is that he should GO asap.

I think a few of us were hoping that he would actually start to do something on a regular basis. But it would appear that it's never going to happen, well more then 2-3 games anyway. So at the end of the season I can see him finding a new home either at an AFL club or one of the various bush leagues around the country.

Haha wow ppl defending mcg, he is slow indecisive and has incorrect running and kicking styles.. Sure he is a ball magnet but he has no decision making, always just as eddie says bombs it long.. Nice handballing but thats about it.

As for williams its a disgrace every week mick lets him out in the black and white with his current form, knowing the young talent and hunger we have down at williams town need the game time also, for their own long term development and skill.. He might be ruining other peoples careers how ironic.. Like c1, lones, kingy, ect one of these 3 might be a star after this year and we might never know. If worse comes to worse i would even like c1 in loose down back instead of williams, i bet if we done this the last 4 games we would be 3-1.

The fault is'nt with the player,...it's with the bloke that picks him each week,....sooner or later he will play OK in a game, and the bloke, MM ,
will say , told you so.
But at what expense?

But when will he consistantly do it? That is his main problem - handy at times, explosive in others, missing in plenty. What to do?

we shouldnt be playing a guy so he can "get another chance", and MAYBE "get his form back". The fact is, if you're not in the best 22, you shoudlnt be in the team, we shouldnt be sacrificing a spot and more importantly jeopardising a potential win in order to wait for a bloke to get his form back(which he might never get back), we have williamstown and even willi reserves for that. Put in the best 22 players avaliable

I have just given up talking about williams, theres not one collingwood supporter in australia that thinks he should be in the team but no matter what we think, he'll keep been named. So just gotta grin and bear it, one player does not decide a game.

Don't compare Davis with Williams.

Davis has actually had an impact in many games for the Pies and this year (when on the paddock) has looked a lot better. His foot skills are up with the best in the team.

bit harsh on leon, he has good skills and can turn a game. Williams however does not have the ability to change a game and make a real impact straight away. Leon is never going to be a consistent player, but when he is on, we will most likely win. Always worth having a player on your list like that.

mg, harsh on Leon. He has had an impact this season, and really worked much harder and has deserved more time int he midfield.

As many have said before... Footy can be a game of centimeters... 2-3 of our games this year could have been turned by small factors.

1 Player that is idle on the ground for 80 minutes is not only failing to contribute, but also preventing a more capable player from having any impact.

If they are waiting for Williams to hit form, drop him to Willy for 5-6 weeks and see if he kicks a few bags. Why hurt our senior team?
