Nathan Buckley was recruiyed from Brisbane in exchange for Craig Starcevich and Troy Lehmann. I think Tristan Lynch was tied up in the deal too. Paul Williams was drafted as a middle of the road draft pick. Scott burns also came from SA via the draft. Sav was from Collingwood's metropolitan zone (when each club still had them). Mal Michael was on the rookie list and was promoted to fill the 42nd spot on the list which was left vacant by the departure of either Jonaton Ross or Trent Hotton (I think it was Hotton). I am prepared to be proven wrong on some of the finer details as this is all from memory.

The controvery you may be refering to was that Collingwood was barred from selecting Buckley and Brett Chamlers because the club was seen to be unduely influencing the outcome of the draft by having some form of agreement with these players prior to the draft.

Collingwood did well for a while with its late picks. I think Tony Francis was a late pick too. Pity their early picks weren't as successful.

In the Buckley trade we gave up Starcevich, Lehmann and Chris Scott.

The first 2 were flops for them, but Scott is a goodie. Doesn't matter though i would have given up the remainder of our 1990 premiership side to get Bucks. (except Gavin Brown)

I love ya Browny
