WHO DO WE TRADE AND WHO DO WE KEEP?

Post by JLC »

Hello to the number one Magpie in Joffa and to Jess and to the rest of the Collingwood faithful. I believe the burning question on everyones lips is who do we trade at the end of the year and who do we keep?

I will tell you my opinion which is normally correct...lol

Delist:

Patterson (Why did we ever get him for?)
Watson (Should have been traded four years ago)
McKee ( No need to say anything except DUD)
Smith (Five years of absoloute shit)
Olarenshaw (Useless never plays)
Tuckey (Too skinny too unreliable)
Brown (Retire true champion of the club)
Crosisca ( Retire another loyal servant of the club)
Tyson Lane ( One good year only)
Simon Hawking (Thanks for coming, now go home)

Trade maybe

P. Williams (Only for Gehrig type player)
M. Michael ( If they keep playing him as a forward)

The Roccas have to stay otherwise our forward line is stuffed
and disfunctional.

I reckon Neil Balme should go as well he is doing nothing for the club.

I only value two opinions and they know who they are. I invite anyone else to respond so i can shoot down your arguments.
I know i am right on this issue.

Word Up Joffa ( You wanted a topic so here it is Coach)

Collingwood needs to gain 3-5 quality 100 game players to help carry the load while we develope our young players. How do we get them you ask, well this is my idea.
When we recuited Buckley we had our 10 untouchables that would not be let go,I would do this again this year with the rest available in a winning trade for us.

We need to target a tall backman , mobile ruckman , running defenders/midfieders.

The Untouchables are - Buckley, O'Bree, N.Davis, Tarrant, Shaw, A.Rocca, Fraser, L.Davis, Adkins, Johnson..

Recruiting stratagy.
1. Poach , we will have 2nd or 3rd selection in the pre-season draft.
2. Trade using players and/or draft selections prior to draft day.
3. Trade our 1st round selection if this years talent pool is light on (we already have plenty of youth).

OK SHOOT AWAY....

Make Presti an untouchable as well. He's held our backline together this year - without him we'd be done by over 10 goals EVERY week (instead of just every 2nd week).

I'm wary of us trading given our previous history...but we need to do SOMETHING...just don't give away too many of those who've shown a bit this year.

Esteemed Panel,

I agree with a list of untouchables and also think we need a bit of a mongrel in the backline. Most importantly we need a ruckman for a couple of years, cause Josh needs help. BTW i would make him Untouchable too.

Is my memory correct or did we have the opportunity a few years ago to draft Nick Stevens. (Been to the AFL web site and couldn't find past drafts.) Instead we picked Wasley and a grinning Port swooped a pick or two later. If correct some smarter recruiting by Mr Judkins may have meant a swap of one of our few quality players (Burns) would be unnecessary. Let's see if we can swap Wazza before its truly confirmed that he's a dud. At the moment dickheads like Drew Morphett still pump up his tyres as being quick. Move now Pies cause it's only going one way :
- he'll turn into a dud which we'll have to offload for nothing e.g. Patto, Crow, Wild etc

On another note - does anyone remember hearing Bucks at the start of the year - he said the team had set itself the goal of being the never say die team of the comp. It's was words to that effect. He knew with the youth they wouldn't be world beaters but they had made a commitment to this sort of goal. It sounded great at the time because the team under Shawry rarely got thrashed or gave up. Throwing MM's polish as a coach on top of this sort of commitment sounded terrific. They've fallen a long way short as most weeks there ain't much passion shown.

Can anyone else remember this quote?

You missed another Joffa - FREEBORN.

I don't know why most posts here want to delist him. All the games he played this year he has been a contributor - certaibly more so than Willo - and his expereince is needed.
