I think I need some of what you're smoking! Just where does one start with this ridiculous list of proposed team changes.

1. Johnson was one of our best on Monday night. Roo made him look a bit silly a couple of times but he isn't the only player that Roo has done that to.

2. Clement hasn't been confirmed as an ommision as yet, actually named. Given that you want to drop some of our better players from Monday (Johnson & Lonie) I can't believe you haven't suggested that we drop him based on his performance.

3. C3 was far from our worst performing key forward yet I don't see you suggesting that we drop Rocca.

4. Pendles needs to play a bit of footy at Willi following his glandular fever before we crucify him at senior level. Should not be promoted on anything other than form.

5. Just which of Cara and Lonie are you suggesting needs to grow some balls? Both of the same ilk. The team actually needs players like Cara and Lonie and I think that both would be in our best 22.

6. Guy Richards had a poor game but I think he is worth another crack before relegating him to Willi.

7. Egan still doesn't appear to know where & when to run to position. Will improve given more game time. He is the only listed omission for the Dawks game on Sunday.

I would also drop Maxwell, yes I am probably going against the grain here, but I thought his game on Monday was ordinary. Bring in H. O'Brien for M. Williams.
And just what exceptional feats has C2 performed that warrant promotion?

I'll totally ignore the Maxwell comment.

Ridiculous ay? Cam has shown very good form for willy T.Cloke has had poor form both in the pre-season and last week wasn't saying he can't play but saying his form hasn't warranted selection. As for Taz , Rocca and Clement they have earnt enough brownie points to have a bad game.

Again Richards was crap in the PS and again last week.

Sick of people having alot of turnovers and Johno does it alot.

Lonie = softer than carra , Carra might not smash packs but he goes when required.

From all reports Pendles is over GF and playing him off the bench for a limited time each quarter will only help his development.

most my changes would provide alot more run and send a message that crap disposal and decision making will not be tolerated.

I know Trav had a poor game, but saying he was the worst performing forward? I think thats a bit harsh.

Of the Big Three (Taz, Rocca and Trav)...Trav is the ONLY one who had a period of impact on the game. His first quarter was very good...marked everything that came his way, and kicked a mature goal.

The other two did jack shit all night, but Rocca and Taz are undroppable due to their importance to the side, and would have to play half a season of shit before being dropped.

They both take AT LEAST the two best defenders and Taz always seems ot have 2-3 mauling him. If those defenders were left to their own devices they would focus on guys like Trav, Rus, Cam, Egan...and without meaning to offend the young blokes, they would get smashed at this stage in their careers.

Even at their worst, Rocca and Taz play a "Presti"-style role....you dont see them much, but they drag the best opponent the opposition has to offer out of the game.

Turns out i wasnt quite right, he was 2nd overall (by the end anyway) but was still top for Collingwood.

And i was right about the 15 effective too. Im not sure how the 8 clanger stat arose, cos i thought that was only for kicks.

BJ was also equal top in rebounds from 50.

Good to see Swan and Breesy right up there in Contested possessions and rebounds too. (and uncontested possessions, but thats a given when you get over 30).

So, Dalyc, is that good enough to get my beer or not? hehe ;)
Good try, no cigar.

In hindsight we are comparing apples and oranges. You are right in terms of effective kicks, but what I am critical of is his ineffective kicks which is not contained in the stats you provide. If the eight clangers ( reported elsewhere in the thread) are all kicks, we should consider is kicking effectiveness as 15/(15+8) = 65%.

I don't think that's good enough.

With Pendles continuing his classy form I reckon MM will debut him on Anzac Day, he loves debuting kids on A-Day.

His case is getting warmer by the week - but who to squeeze out? We'll have enough trouble getting in the likes of Burnsy and Wakes this week as it is!

As for Anzac Day debuts, in recent times we've seen:

Travis Cloke in 2005
Cameron Cloke in 2004
Guy Richards in his 4th in 2004
Mark McGough in his 2nd match in 2002
Ryan Lonie in his 5th in 2001

Jason Wild in debut in 1995.:)

Liked what I saw of Pendelbury at Willy on Saturday. The kid has a good step, classy skills and a couple of times he moved the ball through heavy traffice without a BH player laying a hand on him.

Looks special.

Imagine Dale Thomas winning the Anzac Day medal, just like Mark McGough in 02.

It would be alot harder for Pendlebury to do the stuff at senior level obviously then in the reserves. Im interested to know from people that have seen this boy play what good attributes he has and what he could work on.... the only reason being ive been told that we could have selected this boy at pick21 instead of pick5 so our recruiting staff must have seen something in him that they like besides his disposal and evasive skills.....
Daicos, this is when he's at his best, the MAAASSSTTTTTEEERRR!!!
