Some thoughts on trading, seeing its a bit of a hot topic at present.
I don't see why Sav or Willo or whoever should not be traded, if the deal was in our favour (something singularly lacking in recent years). If they are playing crap for us, and we pick up someone in the trade who does better, I see it as a win. If the bloke we trade goes and stars at his new club (a la Hotton), big deal. We ain't gonna climb up the ladder holding onto non producing players, retaining them for the bizarre reason that they will become champions by playing elsewhere. It makes them all the better trade material I'd figure.
Sometimes you have to give a little to get a bit. It's obvious that our trading record over the last 8 years or so has generally been abysmal. Sav may be a top bloke, but everyone is swappable, even Mr Buckley if the deal was right! (Can't wait for the flack over that call)
Anyhow, thoughts on my friday evening post Guiness session eagerly anticipated!
