NICK Maxwell hasn't known team success since his 2004 debut with Collingwood and has quickly learnt a couple of heady wins are no reason to crow or rest on his laurels.
The 22-year-old defender, who had 26 possessions to be among his side's best in the Magpies' 77-point belting of the Kangaroos on Monday, had his mind on the job for good reason.
Collingwood captain Nathan Buckley admitted on radio after the win Maxwell had needed "a prick" to get focused after a tardy effort against Hawthorn a week earlier.
