Does anybody know about the 2 Gavs

Post by ash »

I was reading in the paper on Tuesday that Gavin Crossica has to overcome "general soreness" if he want to play his last game for the magpies this week. I did not even know that he had announced his retirement (or is he expected to announce it, because he struggled for selection), and what about Brown. Does anybody know what he will be doing. Personally I think he is still a handy pocket or flanker and could play on.

B fore on the news they said we can expect Bagga's announcement soon (i think they said 2morrow) but as for Rowdy he is having another nights sleep to think on it.

Thanks spidergirl

...but I think that Rowdy will be pressured into retirement. I hope we only know before Saturday so I can cheer them off.

p.s. has any body read his book that was released a few years ago, or any Collingwood book for that matter. I just started reading "PANTS".

It was announced in today's Age & Hun (by Robert Pyman - our "COmmunications Manager") that Gav Crosisca will play his farewell match this Saturday.

The fact that Rowdy was not in the announcement suggests he will not be retiring - besides which, we will have 2 spots on the veterans list to fill: Rowdy & ????

Is there anyone else on our list who qualifies for veteran status? Willo or Watson maybe? Exactly what are the criteria? I think it has something to do with 10 years AFL experience, but I'm not sure.

Yes - Both Gav's are retiring! The club are going to have Rowdy and Bagger do a lap of honor - also Sav and Patto will be doing a lap of honor , so thankfully the club is doing the right thing there and giving us fans a chance to say goodbye !!! I think there will be a lot of tears as those four players have given us so much! Think I'll have to take a full box of tissues!!!
Ash - I have read Collingwood Forever by Gavin Brown got him to sign it for me. He said he had a lot of fun writing it! I've also read Pants, Ten Years in Black and White by Crackers Keenan and Collingwood and Me by Peter Daicos - all were good to read.

Haven't you read Shawry's book? Legendary book. Our school library actually had it so i of course proudly stole it and it is signed. Cool book pretty funny too!
