Its hard to move on and in the words of our own Captain,
"The hardest thing in life is to get started & to stay motivated"
With a heart as big a Phar Lap staying motivated will be easy for the Collingwood FC!

Indeed - blaming umpires, the AFL, Wayne Jackson, The Freemasons, The Taliban and suspected Al-Quaeda telemarketers, isn't going to give us the premiership cup that was almost ours. The game and indeed all the finals series made stronger, tougher and resilent players out of all the Pies first 22. Anthony Rocca in the biggest match of his career put in one of his best efforts. This all for a guy who regularly cracked under pressure. It's highly likely that some of his best football will be played in the next 3-4 years. The flag might not be ours next year but it will almost certainly be in the next 3 years. I started out this season hoping this team could just make the finals and instead they made the grand final, exceeding everyone's expectations. Although we fell one short, this was still a giant leap for a team that finished 9th last season, hadn't seen finals action in 8 years and won a final in 12. There's many a reason to find a smile.
Now I`ll leave you with some words I remember when I`m feeling fairly glum and downbeat. Excuse the sentimental overtones.
"...Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime
and departing, leave behind us
footsteps on the sands of time
Footsteps, that, perhaps another,
Sailing o'er life's solemn main,
A forlorn and shipwreck'd brother.
Seeing shall take heart again.
Let us then be up and doing,
With a heart for any fate;
Still achieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labour and to wait."
