Not worthy eh?

Marc Murphy and Dean Polo were both awarded a rising star nominations after playing one game and they were all the next best thing.

Pendles has come in and played three solid games, not in the fashion Dale Thomas came in but has set a good foundation for himself to become a 200+ game player for the B&W. He has been dominating in the VFL, racking up 30+ possies on a number of occasions and was unlucky not to have had 5 or 6 games to his name already in a team that is sitting third on the ladder.

Should get a nomination after this week and is worthy of whatever praise he gets.

Having said that, to keep his spot he must keep performing in the ones with blokes like Holland and Swan coming back in the side and Davies, Rowe and Iacobucci all having solid peformances in the VFL.

He looks the goods dont he?! Once I've seen him play a 30+ possie game I'll be sold. Most of these kids have got lots of skill, but take a while to become an instant pick. Look at Swannie, Daks, Lones, Heater and Maxy, not to mention the Clokes. They take a few years to become consistent reliable players at Lexus, Mick's slow development plan, of course. Problem is this doesnt suit some players who dont wanna wait two years to be regular starters. I wonder how Marc Murphy would have gone? It's very likely he wouldn't have donned the stripes yet (of course Caaalton cant afford that luxury).

But somehow Pendles (have we decidid on a nick yet?) LOOKS like a Colingwood player...dark, short hair, tall and thin, dark features, much like Daks, Lones, Presty, Licca, Wakes, Dutchy, and back to Pants, Banksy, and McKenna etc. Funny that. Still, its better than havin' a pile of gingers like Geelong.

I would suggest that as Dale Thomas started the year in the seniors and Marc Murphy is probably further ahead in his development he would have started the year in the ones as well. MM brings them in when they are ready, not before and not later.

SCOTT Pendlebury slotted a goal with his first kick in his first game with Collingwood. It's a moment he will never forget.

Only positive i could find was the intesity was alot better this week but still have the same let downs with Lonie soft as ever.

Only concern I have with him at the moment is he doesn't kick forward often enough. That will come with time though, just needs confidence at this level, is great in and around the packs.

His performance was great today, made a few mistakes but he will learn from it.

Pendlebury was good today but i agree with the fact that he tends to go backwards and sidewards too much.
As said he will learn from it.

Going backwards and sidewards is fast spreading throughout the whole team.

On far too many occasions are we looking sidewards before forwards, hence the F50 gets clogged and is made far too hard for the forwards.

Pendles has come on in leaps and bounds.

I'm of the opinion that he has taken over Thomas in terms of contribution.
There are so many site rules and regulations I no longer know what I can and can't put in this signature.

Great signs from Pendles, I didn't think Thomas or H Shaw let us down either, was really the older players that were to blame. Hopefully Pendles can keep it up and cement his spot in the team.

Yeah Pendles was great, couple of mistakes but he's still so young. Thomas was servicable but i reckon earlier in the year if he'd have tried for that goal on the boundary he would have kicked it. Has dropped off a bit. Lonie really disappointed me. I've been sticking up for him lately and he had a shocker. I thought he was getting harder at it but todays performance was as soft as a pensioner's turd, as nuxta is fond of saying. Heater was good, but didn't get any back up from O'Bree in the last qtr and had to chase the Freo player Cheesy failed to tackle. That slip cost us a goal, as did Lonie's dropped mark in their goalsquare.
Congrats Bucks, on a great return! Bring on the Crows!

To be honest Pendles has been sensational, especially the last couple weeks. Players like Pendles and Thomas should be providing enthusiasm and the occassional spark rather than trying to carry players that have played 100+ games. Until our Midfield reads Pendlebury, Thomas and Swan in 2-3 years time, we will be very hard pressed to win a premiership!
