Pendlebury seems to fit the midfield like a hand in a glove, I think he is doing pretty well there and doesn't need to add to our glut of half backs. He's a better true mid than Thomas. Pendles is like a McGough who can kick.
Get back on top.

Cam, the voice of reason. Pendles needs to be where the ball is and let his smarts, evasive skills and natural talent work where it will be most effective.

Pendles has been as good as anyone for the pies in the last few weeks, watch the game and watch pendles. His only problem at the moment is he is six games in, playing in the midfield with a group of senior players who are playing pretty lazy football ie. not giving him the support he needs in regards to shepards, talking to him, providing options. Despite this he is having good touches of the footy.

Speaking of McGough, I'm glad for him that he wanted to go to greener pastures to play senior footy as he was better than the Collingwood Football Club and all the players who were in the team above him. I also took some pleasure in telling him this at close range as he ran around at a cold and wet Point gelibrand playing for the Casey Scorpions...d*ckhead.

You would think him, Luke Blackwell and Troy Chaplin would be on the shortlist. Perhaps Tom Murphy from Hawthorn too, although he has only played the last couple.

A big game, with most of his possessions coming when the game is still alive (as opposed to final qtr junk possessions) should see him get it in the next 3-4.
.....how many times you've saved my butt....

I'm sure Hurn will, RW. He'll win 25 touches and destroy us.

WKB, I didn't think McGough had much of a day on Saturday, how'd you view his game (as a wet weather speciallist).

Got a few touches but didn't do a lot with them, which is his customary style. Not good enough to play with Williamstown.

I would think that he'll get nominated as soon as his performances are assessed as being better than the players that have been nominated.

Pendlebury seems to have all the class and poise you would want in a midfielder. Makes me wonder why all the predraft 'mock' drafts and the experts didnt have him in the top 10. I wonder where he would have been picked if not taken by Collingwood at 5 (i.e. what did other clubs think?).

Everyone was still pretty high on his ability mate, so top 10.

Still Hurn slipped down to the West Toast and he looks like he could easily be a 200 gamer with his big body and polish and skill

RW, Hurn was tipped pre-draft by many as a number two-three pick (after Murphy). WCE may have a bargain.

great read...despite many dropping off Paul Licuria, his work ethic and passion is something i hope rubs off on a guy like Pendlebury who is perhaps an outsider at the moment and has shirked a few contests in his opening year.

Licca has been amazing for us over the year, and its time for the young guys to come through and replace him now.

Also great to hear pendles arms are killing him after gym sessions, means he is really putting in the hard yards and ripping that muscle. In 3 years, i reckon he is going to be an ideal size for a midfielder.
There's more to life than footy.........just not much more.

I think it is great that Pendles wants to model himself on Licca. He is a champ man!! I love that guy. I reckon that if Pendles turns out to be half the player Licca is and has been, then the club will look very promising in the future!!!

GO LICCA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Thanks for the memories Licca - I'm gonna miss you!!! - Bring on 2008 - Nick Maxwell has my vote for Captain -

He needs to slap on some serious KG's so he doesnt get pushed off the ball..... Good to see he's spending plenty of time in the gym.
Beware the swooping Magpie.
