Agreed, for kemosabee to be saying we shouldn't have drafted Sam Illes and waited for Chris Judd to fall in our lap via the PSD is very odd. Sam Illies had the best debut of all of the class of 2006. Well done Sam.

he doesn't know how to kick. How do I know? He had about 25 kicks to prove it. On ball tampering alone he was pretty good. With an extra 10 kilos, Sam could be the next Nathan Buckley.

Gee, Chris Judd and Nathan Buckley all rolled into one. Can't wait for him to mature as a player.

Evidently he is up in Toowomba on tour with his rock band during the off season as well.

Actually he had 12 kicks for 2 clangers, where Holland had 8 kicks for 5 clangers. Perhaps you should have a go at a senior player rather than a first game player.

Sam Illes is one of the best players to come out of the Collingwood system for a long time. He will beat Tony Shaw's game record for the club, make no mistake.

Dutchy Holland had the worst game he has ever had in a black and white or Freo heave ho jumper.

It was almost like Dutchy had passed the Dutchie.

lol that's a big statement. Lets just let the kid be given time to develop and prove himself before we start putting any labels on who he is. he'll be known for the players he turns out to be not any other player labels.

Iles looked quite composed. Despite 1 or 2 little mistakes which was not uncommon for any player throughout the match....he didnt seem overwhelmed and ran to receive a few times. Good to see a kid back himself enough and demand the footy. Great work.

However if we are talking our best 22, surely Rhyce Shaw is in it over one of the first year players.

MM tends to banish players and at the moment he has wiped Rhyce from the game plan. I just got the feeling like the Telstra Stadium in Sydney, Rhyce would have been perfect for the AAMI stadium where you can carry the ball more than the MCG.

But alas, we will never know.

Im just thinking come finals time...mick will probably have to chose 2 of R.Shaw, Davies, Morrison, Pendes and Iles. R Shaw would be in my side any day, and id still have Davies and MOrrison ahead of 2 first year players. You would want a bit of experience in the bigtime.

Hasn't figured in the reserves, needs to earn it, took Lockyer 2 years to get over the same knee injury
