when are the ppl on this board gonna get over bagging ricky, just because he's injured doesn't mean he can be called a waste of space and all this other crap, if he saw this board do u know how he would feel.. or care.. probably not but some people do, hes a nice bloke and if spidergirl wants to sign her name with his number and whateva it's her choice she's just showing her respect and so most ppl should do for their favourite players
oh k so he's not really gonna be of any use to the club with all his injuries but that doesnt mean u have to bag him, he's a star

mick - and where exactly did you say 'id like to see where lockyer couldn't play' cos i cant seem to find it in this topic. what i can see that you typed was "lockyer", and, "how many of these players will be superstars and not just ordinary players"
and ricky isnt a waste of space, i think i would prefer a guy on the list who has the right attitude and encourages the players than no player at all. anyway who says we would have got ramanaskas anyway, and if we did who says he would be the same as he is at essendon???? also i dont think you saying ricky is a waste of space would be appreciated by him. it wasnt called for for you to insult him.
and this is to no one in particular. i was just wondering whos great idea it was to trade schauble (and a draft pick) for the great mark kinnear who retired about 2 weeks later?? is this shit recruiting or what??

Whats Mick been smoking

You cannot possibly have a go at our recruiting. We have so many players that can take the next step and become a champion by the end of there career it not funny, (Adkins, Lockyer, Davis (x2), Shaw, Tarrant, Scotland etc).

By the way Tony Shaw admitted he tried to trade Sav on NATIONAL TELEVISION and admitted that there was not much there for him.

But you are right about Olerenshaw. He has played one good quater of football in his life in the 93 grand final. Most Essendon supports will tell you this.

Mick - Don't u ****en call us kiddies and yes u have bagged our poor Ricky too much!
You've missed the point - if it's not about Ricky then why are u bagging him $!

Broadie - wots it 2 u how i sign my posts on here next year. If Ricky's not playing do u think we are all gonna hate him or something he will still be our hero u idiot! U r the waste of space round here.

*Miss_Magpie* - u legend

same here MAGPIERA I was rapt! N E way i think Ricky is probably beyond caring about the wankas on here who bag him afterall wots the use of worrying about ppl like that they aren't the ones who are good enough to make it onto an AFL list not to mention win a premiership!

Hey Ricky lovers if what we hear is true r we gonna go barrack for the umpies next year or what! I can just see it now all us silly chicks sittin there in our little white umpies guernseys screaming for Ricky! Image

On the point about you people contrasting some of our young blokes (unfavourably?)with Green from the D's and his ilk. I've seen los of blokes look like a million bucks (pardon the pun) in their first year, but they get sorted out next year. We need guys to play well consistently. I don't think any of the blokes we've piked up over the last year or so can't play, is getting them to be consistent over the whole season.

Do not start with the
"IF he ...."

That is a sure sign that you have no actual argument. Deal only in the facts.

FACT: he was injured for 90% of his time at Collingwood.
FACT: He had a history of injuries BEFORE coming to Collingwood.

"IF he wasn't injured..." does not cut the mustard.

That is no reflection on Ricky as a person, simply the facts of his health / fitness. My (& many others) are criticising the CLUB for getting him in the first place.

- I apologise. Your response demonstrated such maturity it was very unfair of me to call you "kiddies".

Can we have some informed comment and healthy debate back on the bulletin board soon like we used to?

Suggestion - why don't all you kiddies swap email addresses and bore yourselves stupid with tales of your co-ordinators and leave the rest of us to argue over the Pies.

Have to agree wholeheartedly with Mick (& Nick as well - see "CARLLLLLLON.." post).

Why have a few BB members decided to take comments about FOOTBALL as personal insults? The current bout of mud-slinging (which is primarily one-way) is most unbecoming and I hope is just a sign of frustration at there being no more magpie games to watch (perhaps I should lend some of you my own collection - watched the Orangeroos match again this week).

The complaints about co-ordinators / teachers / whoever is on your back at the moment are also unfortunate.

Can we please return to our healthy diasagreement about FOOTBALL matters and leave it at that? I have not questioned people's personality / age / gender / etc. in observations on football, and neither did most people here (except in obvious jest). Yet I find myself being attacked personally, and keep reading of attacks on others.

I would like to return to former situation of simply arguing footy, not personal attacks on BB contributors or their friends/enemies. I am sure others would concur.

I think we should try everything to get Gehrig. He is fast and strong and we can play him in any position. The only other player at collingwood that can do that is Bucks. Remember this year when he destroyed us at Full Forward on one leg.

I agree that we should keep Willo.

But what would West Coast want for Gehrig?

mick and broadie, do you think that spidergirl, CQ, and miss magpie know nothing about football because they are young or because they are girls or you just cant agree with what they say OR is it because you cant admit to being wrong? none of these reasons are valid.

FACT: i KNOW for a FACT that CQ has been a member of the collingwood football club for the last 10 years and has been to every single game in melbourne (that collingwood were at) for the last 5 years, i think she might know a little bit about football.

FACT: even though i have only known spidergirl for a short amount of time , i am sure she knows more about football than either of you two.

CQ, spidergirl, myself and others attend the games and training religiously, and we have a fair idea of what is going on. we have even had the previlage of being allowed into a lockout (and no we didnt sneak in, bill unlocked the gate and let us in, then locked the gate again).
we talk to the player and find out whats going on.
so now mick, you can take you little "kiddies..." remark and stick it up your arse, just cos you're older doesnt mean you are wiser.

REN

PLease go back and read my posts.

I have NEVER insinuated that Spidergirl or any other poster is less knowledgable due to age / gender. In fact I argued quite the opposite in one of the other forums, explainaing why females are every bit as knowledgeable and able to comment on footy as males.

And my latest post addressed the issue of personal attacks on this board. PLease re-read that one.
