Apparently it's the same complaint that saw him miss games earlier this year. It's related to the ongoing Tendinitis he's had for 4-5 years and the knock he copped in the Carlton pre-season match.
He could play to the end of the season, but he'd always be a bit proppy. This way he'll miss the rest of the 99 season, but be ready for almost a whole pre-season to regain fitness for 2000.
Sounds to me like someone down at Lulie St has finally given some very sound medical advice that football people have actually listened to.
