I can't believe that he won't be there anymore. Even at the start of the year when he was back in the team for his first game I remember the enormous cheer that went up when he took his first mark and kicked his first goal.It was fantastic.The crowd was so excited to have our Sav back.Just like the good old days. I will always remember chanting 'GO ROCCA GO ROCCA' whenever Sav marked or goaled.We had such fun.I met Sav several times and he is such a nice guy and has always been a role model on and off the field. I cringed when I heard someone say on radio that there was a place for him at Sydney to become a Tony Lockett. Horror. Lockett may have kicked a lot of goals but there are other ways to be a champion and Sav was it. I feel extremely saddened about the way things have turned out for him but let's hope that there will be a new and perhaps better future for him. If he goes to another club I hope he succeeds and sticks it up Collingwwod. GOOD LUCK TO OUR HERO SAVERIO.MISSING YOU ALREADY LOVE FROM ORIETTA.

Sav, you have been my football inspiration ever since you came to Collingwood. I don't know if you'll read this but by chance you do, I'm the guy who at 15 or 16 years old, looked through the white pages and rang probably half your relatives trying to find your phone number just so I could congratulate you on selection in the Victorian squad.
I'm the guy who called you again a few months later to congratulate you on kicking the usual bag against Essendon. I'm also the guy who during the 2000 pre-season, saw you at Jack's Bar at Crown and, only 'cos I was drunk enough to have the courage, came up and chatted to you for 10 minutes or so while you waited for some friends. Sav, you're a f*cken champion and I hope that you succeed in whatever you do and wherever you go. I believe in you. PS> I'm also that guy that wrote you a massive letter a few weeks back so let me know if you got it! ------------------------------------------------- And on a final note, will someone explain to me why guys like Jason Wild with no talent whatsoever were allowed to hand around the club for sh*t ....... how long ....... 8 years? And then a guy like Sav who has been unfortunate with injuries and half-wit coaches holding him down gets cut at the age of 26 after kicking over 500 goals. Where is the logic? I will be anxiously awaiting to see who gets cut and who stays on the Collingwood list this season and if I have any complaints about guys who were able to keep their spot ahead of Sav, then I'm comin' for the committee!

thanks everybody for replying ot the tributes i am going to send them probaly wednesday of nexy wekk so if you have a tribute for the great man sav get it in before then.... Also i hope he reads all these tibutes becasuse what we have all said means alot to us and he deserves to hear it...
Also i have gone trough some other posts like goodbye sav and other ones and have got the tributes from there so if anyone has any probs with me sending them to sav let me know thanks once again

And keep getting those tributes in....

You are a true legend. I will never forget the boys on 3AW shouting your name when you CONSTANTLY keeped kicking goals against Essendon.

I cannot believe the passion of these Collingwood supporters. This is a great tribute to Sav. Saverio, you have a place, well earned, in all of our hearts. We will miss you!! I hope you go on and continue to kick arse where ever you go, but don't forget us down at Viccy Park, and try to visit once in a while!! Let's all join in the chant for old times sake.

good to hear you've sent these off. how did you do it? Did you post them or drop them in to the club..Let us know if you hear anything back. I dropped off a card for him at the club nearly two weeeks ago and while I would like to know that he's received it I don't think there's much chance of that.. GO PIES..

I think the players do eventually get your letters but whether they are legendary enough to write back is another thing. When i sent off something to Spider he took ages to send back to me - a whole season basically but when i got the envelope back from him i was so thrilled i had tears in my eyes. He sent me one of his footy socks which is now proudly up in a frame on the wall. So be patient maybe u will get something back if not then stuff him.
