<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>Hello

I am currently researching the 1970 Grand Final for a book I am writing. I'm wondering whether you can give me any ideas as to getting in touch with supporters who were there who I could talk to about the day.
I would be delighted to acknowledge the magpies supporters centre (if the project gets to publication) if help is forth-coming.
Kind regards

Is this bloke on our side or the other?

If he's with us, I may be able to be of some assistance.

hmmm that all depends on how long it takes to finish and what kind of paper it will be printed on and whether all the pics will be in colour, who publishes it etc......

You'll have to count me out. I wasn't there. I was living in S.A. at the time and only heard about it on the radio. All I can remember is the elation of hearing that we were a long, long way in front, the gradual concern as the lead got whittled away, and then the total disbelief at hearing the final score.

Just as well I wasn't there. I've seen the replay a few times and I think I would have assassinated the umpire after that mark to McKenna wasn't paid just before Jezaulenko kicked that goal right out of his arse to seal the match.

I've never watched the replay, any of them. I just don't see the point in reliving the trauma. Don't know how you can do it, Alf!

i would of assinated the umpire for not calling the ball out of bounds when it was clearly out and a carlton player knocked it back in and they were in front
