Its so typical of the keyboard hero's not just from Nicks, but EBW and LSD ....365 is irrelevant! Hiss thats why I didn't bother having a go at you, it was obvious you had no intention of standing up at the AGM. I'm sure you went sitting in hope no-one knew just who you were..... or were you the host with the most ;)

I think it's time the Club was forced to act on Victoria Park, we here at Nicks forced the issue on Interstate membership.
We can make the CLUB Listen to us.
Gone, but not forgotten Tessa....at least not forgotten by a dedicated core of the club. The overall consensus, in my view, is that the club should not waste it's time and money in chasing after something we will never have. Peace in Abbotsford.

Frankly, standing in that room and looking out over that hallowed turf surrounded by what is undoubtedly the finest arena in the world with a mystical wintry mist of precipitation falling from above (Eddie Everywhere?), it is easy to see how and why the club has chosen the path it has chosen.

Victoria Park will be a football ground for at least 10 more years and at present none of the structures will be demolished until year 6 and 7 of the council's grand plan. That will be 2011/12.

Victoria Park will only be a part of the Collingwood Football Club if enough of the membership wants it. At present the numbers are not good and the prospect of a Collingwood museum anywhere, let alone in the Syd Coventry Pavilion, are very remote, given that Eddie and Greg are understandably unwilling to send the club back down a path of financial instability.

This was my first AGM and the night was enjoyable. I was disappointed with the turnout, just 6% of the Social Club members turned out. Less than 1 in 16, but it filled the room so I guess this number was expected.

Willo was great and it is ironic that his poster and the team poster of 2003 are the only ones left in the old Social Club. Paul is still on that concrete support looking out over Victoria Park.

It's a funny thing attending a Footy AGM at Collingwood, Football itself gets very little attention. It almost seems innapprpriate now to talk about results - the dissapointment was palpable though when the question was asked about the final's performance. The players are ushered out before General Business questions and MM is on his pat and he took the comment on the chin. It was said repeatedly that the team performance was not good enough and we need to address where we let ourselves down. Ed said that the boys were in the rooms after in silence for half an hour ... this is the impetus for the new year and Arizona is where it starts ...
Let all your troubles be forgot for we are Collingwood. We'll fight it out until the end we're Collingwood. So help me Jock.
Two pies and two beers thanks!!

MM responded to a complaint about our performance in the finals against the bulldogs. The member also complained that the club had not adequately explained the team's capitulation against the dogs. I must say that my own view is that members are not entitled to have our team's weaknesses and deficiencies explained in public forums. What we are entitled to, however, is evidence that the club is addressing these problems and constantly striving to improve our team. Obviously a public forum is not the place for a coach to criticise individual players, so some of you will be disappointed with Mick's response. He only addressed the general issue.

Firstly, he stated that we need to assess the team over it's whole year's performance, not just its last game. Then he said that we were not out-muscled by the bulldogs, but we were clearly overrun. He pointedly sugggested that the de-listings and trades we've just conducted were aimed at rectifying our team's weaknesses. The club has identified our on-field deficiencies and consequently we've turned over 19 players in the past 2 years. He believes that we currently have the makings of a great side and that there was unlikely to be such large player turnovers in the next year or so. He pointed out that in 2006 we only debuted 3 first year players, but that a number of others had been very close to senior selection and that we should see more of them promoted in 2007. The club seems to be very happy with its current list and is expecting good times ahead for us all!

Cheers for the fairly details rundown mate.

I also agree with the comments regarding individual players.

As much as I would love to be able to talk to Mick one on one and ask him some of the questions Loki raised...i.e. wtf was going through Lonie's head? and what does Mick plan to do about preventing that kind of display from marshmallow EVER occurring again?.....the fact of the matter is, there is just now way that that kind of info is going to be disclosed for all the opposition on-lookers to see. It would create massive instability around the club, and also help out other clubs in their preparation if Mick was too honest....so its just not going to happen.

In response to loki04, how absurd for someone to request an explanation for a loss at an AGM, as if losses are unusual things that only occasionally occur due to gross negligence or mismanagement. The other questions are fine for post-match press conferences, but hardly questions suitable for an AGM. Please tell me it is general knowledge that AGMs, by their very nature, are "big picture" events and I have misunderstood something here.

Thanks for the report rudeboy. I have never attended one of these AGM's, and couldn't have last night even if I wanted to. But glad someone from here was there to give us a bit of perspective.

I've always liked listening to Eddie speak, I have always found him very inspriational because of the passion he oozes for this club. I miss hearing him in the media.

They don't get much lower than you in the decency stakes Timbo. I would have given my right arm to be there I can assure you. But to say that I copped out and tried to blame it on my son, well doesn't that say loads about your gutless and cowardly life!!! I have Boards on before and had my share of issues with Ed. I don't dislike Ed at all, just take issue with some of the things at the Club regarding VP.

For you to suggest that i used my son as a cop out demands the strongest condemnation of you. Cowardly and the lowest attack possible. I told the truth and i standby the truth.

Go back to the gutter of gutlessness that you rightfully belong in.
I love this club and I hold anyone in contempt who does not think it is worth fighting for.

Couldn't go as had a slightly sore throat, felt tired from the 1.5 bottles of Pinot Noir I consumed at lunchtime and wanted to watch the cricket.

Also Mad Mickey M gives me a rash if I get up close and personal.

Some of his shocking match ups and team selections were the root cause of the Doggies disaster.

As usually completely unaccountable.

Agree with the poster re Eddie - done a great job but would like to see an improvement in both EBITDA and ROA.

Think we need to at least double our net profit
