#39 Heath Shaw

Post by Proud Pies »

***HEATH (HEATER) SHAW***

Heath Shaw, 2nd son of Collingwood Great Ray Shaw. Heath was drafted in 2003 under the father-son rule.

Heath was nominated and won Rising Star for Round 5 and came 3rd overall at the end of the 2006 Season.

For the 2006 Season, he played his first game in round 2, having previously played the day before for Williamstown. He was a late inclusion as a replacement for Scott Burns. Since Round 2, Heath has played every game for the rest of the Season.

Heath will be one to watch in the coming years. So keep yours eyes out for Number 39.

We just missed his 21st birthday as well. It was on 27 November, so many happy returns for your 21st Heater!

Read what he had to say in Arizona, on the official Collingwood Site.

A sturdy defender, Heath Shaw was one of the most impressive things to come out of the disastrous 2005 campaign. Shaw played out the final six matches of the season across halfback, and showed composure seldom seen from a young player at league level.

It was obviously a loooong weekend....but amazingly there's not a lot out there about him. A few old articles from early last season. No more biographical stats although I did see a photo of him and his girlfriend recently, but can't locate that now.

Not doing too well as Player President am i lol.
