No I havent heard the Malthouse rumour. It is common knowledge that Brian Royal is interested and after 4 years under Terry Wallace I think he's ready.

I believe, that of the current coaches in the AFL, Mick Malthouse is the only one who has a realistic chance of coaching the Pies next year.

If it comes down to a Peter Schwab, Brian Royal, Wayne Brittain etc....I would rather see Shawry stay for another year, until someone better was available.

I maintain that the only suitable candidate for the job who has no senior experience is Dermie. Every man has his price. $$$$$

The word from someone within the club today, (I was told from a friend who has a close contact from within the club) is that they know who the coach will be, and we will be 'pleasantly surprised'.

Its not much info I know.

We were all pleasantly surprised when shawry got the job. In fact if memory serves me correct, the team started off by kicking arse.

we didn't really start off kicking ass. the start of '97 was the best start, when we won about 4 or 5 in a row then lost about 8 on the trot. we were really looking good that year. start of last year was pretty good as well, especially when we slaughtered richmond, and sav and pebbles went mental.
