Question about memberships...

Post by Babylove »

I am looking to become a Collingwood member this year and I was wondering if someone here could answer a question for me. I noticed that their country membership has distance restraints and I was wondering if anyone new if you could get a country membership living in Ballarat and/or Bacchus Marsh. I hope someone can help me.

Thanks

Babylove to be a country member you have to live further than 120km from the Melbourne GPO

Last time I can recall required you to be 160kms from the Malbourne GPO. How far is Ballarat?
Remember thogh, this membership only gives you General Admission to 5 HOME games. No preference for finals tickets, and you will not even be included in any ballot for left over tics.
It is however, the cheapest form of membership and as such, all signed up members are most welcome, remember, we need to knock a few of these other high membership clubs on the head. Only Collingwood should have membership bragging rights, it's the natural order of things!

I know it's not 160km. Im sure its 120 km. If it were 160 nobody in Bendigo could be a country member and there are a lot of country members here as I use to be one.

I read Ballarat is 110km away by freeway, but it would depend on where abouts you live there, wouldn't it? close enough to 120. I live in South Gippy, about 130km away from Melbourne, but I got a 11 game ST anyways, I usually get to go to most of the games. If you want to go to only the 5 games, then country membership is good value.

This is a list of season membership details. Next to "country" are a couple of small "t's". If you look in the VERY fine print you will find these words;
"must reside in excess of 120kms from Melbourne GPO. Does not include access to finals tickets"

Hope that clears it all up.

Yeah, last year at the GF my seats were nosebleed seats. Hey, at least I could say that I was there! (So I needed altitude medicine for two weeks after, big deal! Image)

I can also confirm that you get your own special 1800 number to ring and they ask for your country membership card number and stuff like that. They also ask to see it when you go to pick up your tickets.

The membership that I have is Country Social Club. It is the country membership (not country social club) that does not have seats for finals. Mind you there was the January 10th cut off date to remember.

Go Pies! You are doing us Proud.

Ummm...the question was about a Country Membership.
At no stage did a Country Social Club membership get mentioned.
The information about a Country membership is correct, and available through the link on the official CFC website.
I think that if you look there, you would find the Country Social Club membership as well.
