Collingwood Vs Kangaroos

Post by Neil Appleby »

I think the least said the better.
We thought it might happen didn't we?
Inconsistent is the name of a young player's
game and jesus we were pretty putrid today.
I even screamed for Jason Wild to be brought on...that's how insipid we looked in the first quarter.
The bloke sitting beside me asked a good question that I couldn't answer.
"How can Patterson still be at the club when
Russell, Francis, Boyd, Woods, McCartney,
James, Hassell etc etc get games EVERY week with teams above us????????"
As I said I couldn't answer except to say that in the case of James...good riddance.
It was a sensational day at the MCG today...warm sunshine, GREAT choice of seating....no-one was there even at 1:30 on level 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've never seen such a poor crowd for such a perfect day.
Things are worrying when I have to nominate Presti as one of our best!He made some dreadful errors but at least got where the ball was.
Williams was awful believe me..but he didn't look terrific actually so may be injured.
The young guys showed that we should continue to play them...although my little mate Luke Godden may have reached the end I think.
A.Rocca just doesn't have a football brain I'm afraid and I really think we should trade both him and Sav at the end of the season.
That way we get something for them at least....as distinct from the blokes mentioned above.
OK Newelly it's over to you......
Jesus I've given you enough ammo this time!

Neil, Collingwood does not have a player on its list called Jesus, so you must mean Jesus Christ whose name is revered by millions of people around the world. Using His name in the context of what you wrote offends us and I believe you are lowering the standard of Nick's Bulletin Board. Your reportts are interesting and incisive enough without needing to resort to such language.

Hey Hey wait a minute.

I'm all for free speech. We must never lose that freedom.

In Bill's defence I would just say that there is no need for offensive language whether it be racist, sexist, religist?! or just plain obscene.

I know, I know, this has little to do with football.

Now guys I was being a little provocative I know, but in my game analysis not my language!!
I'm sorry but obviously some of you people live in cuckoo land or North Balwyn....if my language was foul or obsene ok but wait a minute here.....as a practising agnostic the term Jesus is for me an "expression" or an "exclamation". I wasn't trying to offend Christians reading my posting but I'm a little bemused at this storm in a chalice I mean teacup.
Yes I plead guilty Bill but I think you're being a little precious here.
I'll try to contain my waywardness from now on.

well if he really exists and is sitting next to the bearded bloke, and is so superior to us puny sinners, he must have a bit of a sense of humour and not have a over-sensitive ego problem. If not then frankly, he can stick it (but of course if I find myself at the pearly gates a few millisecs after death, I'll be grovelling at the perfect ones' feet and telling em I was only pulling their legs).

Neil,
How can you be a practising agnostic when everyone knows that 'The Almighty' played for Collingwood and wore number 35 on his back.......(No Newelly, I'm not talking about Presti')
