Same old story.

What's going on with the match reports people? We musn't forget the faithfull overseas and interstate. Might I offer a few quick observations from 'Pluggerfest' AKA Round 10 v Sydney.

The Swans jumped us in the first qtr, but After the big fella had sealed Nuts' record Sydney lost the plot for a quarter and a half and although we did reasonably well in this period we could have done better. I have had a feeling of Deja vu for most of this year....you sit there watching games feeling like we're doing reasonably well yet you look at the scoreboard and we are inevitably three kicks behind for most of the day. We can match it with most teams but scoreboard pressure is another story.

Sav's comeback was encouraging, he marked and kicked with confidence, apart from a lapse in concentration when he handballed to Wild, who fumbled of course and slipped over in an attempt to disguise it. Wild must surely have done his dash for the year now. His lack of skills was embarrasing. There was a lot of fumbling throughout the game by both sides, even Bucks dropped a sitter chestmark and didn't seem himself, but still managed a lazy thirty odd possesions.

Rupert Betheras played his best game for the year and had it on a string early in the game. Shawy threw Pebbles to the wolves by leaving him at CHF at the SCG where he couldn't really get into the game. Tyson Lane while not setting the world on fire continues to do his job which is to kick goals. Simon Prestigiacomo, after recieving an absolute bagging here and in other forums has lifted his performance by 100% in the last month or so. He is never gunna get 20 possesions a game, however he has become very reliable and cool heade when required in the backline - Well Done Presti!!

The last 15 minute fade out is a worrying pattern emerging in our game. we are turning games in the balance into 40-50 point losing margins. Lucky percentage will not be an issue for us this year.

Finally all we can do is continue with the youth policy. McDonald, Crow, Watson, Olarenshaw, Walker...why bother even considering them for selection? What could possibly be gained. This week must be our best chance for a while of winning, leave Monkey in the ruck to exploit Jeff White's lack of confidence and keep persisting.

Go Pies.
