If you have been reading the AFL 'Hatches Matches Dispatches' this week you may or may not have noticed that one of the articles has been copied (verbatim in parts) from Buckley Surfers. Nobody at Buckley Surfers was asked or gave permission for their material to be used.
What concerns me about this, other than the obvious disgust that the AFL (who are so protective of their own intellectual property) would rip material off one of the unofficial sites, is that this page has also been accused of plagiarising that material.
Please, if you use someone else's material give credit to the author. There is one person who uses this site regularly who often posts material which has obviously been lifted from another source without giving credit. That must stop, it threatens the well-being of the site.
If material is in the public arena, then you can use it, but always state the source if you're going to quote it, and never use it as if it was yours.
