Post by MargOZ »

Hi All,

Well, we conducted the raffle at our table at Friday night's Presidents Dinner. We couldn't find anyone 'famous' to draw the raffle for us but we did have one or two witnesses in the room (make that around 750!).

Okay the results are as follows:

FIRST PRIZE - CFC Signed Guernsey
WINNER: PROWDY

SECOND PRIZE - CFC Beach Towel
WINNER: Favourites 2006

THIRD PRIZE - CFC Musical Bottle Opener
WINNER: Dalethomasfan

FOURTH PRIZE - CFC CD Case
WINNER: 35Forever

FIFTH PRIZE - CFC Face Washer Set & Wrist Band
WINNER: Dark Beanie

Well done to everyone! Can the winners please contact me via PM to advise where they would like their prize mailed to. Thanks.

Congratulations to all the winners.

Ticket aren't actualy sold Cangaru. As I understand it prizes are either bought or given to the sponsorship group, who raffle them off at the end of the season. I think the ruling is that for every $10 you donate for sponsorship you get 1 ticket in the draw.

Hi Cangaru, it costs from $1485 upwards to sponsor a player. We usually do a call-out late in the year to see if we have enough interest in sponsoring a player for the coming season. Everyone who donates money gets one ticket in each prize draw for every $10 they contribute. We receive a number of prizes from the Club, as well as purchasing additional prizes if we receive over the sponsorship amount.

If you are interested, keep an eye out in this forum later in the year.

Just like to say Thank You to Marg for running this again this year.
It is much appreciated by those of us who could not afford to be involved in player sponsorship otherwise.

Thanks for organising it again this year. Wish I could have gone when I won a raffle earlier in the year. Maybe next time.

Ok so that is reached by numerous donations or by one person!!!?? What does the sponsored player receive from this money and all the sponsors??
Piece of mind you're helping the club, thanks.

I also would like to thank Marg for her great effort with organising the JA player sponsorship. I was lucky enough to win a raffle and attend the players breakfast, which was excellent!

Canga, we try to get as many members of NBB to contribute as possible as there is no other way we could raise the $1485. The money goes to the Club for them to use as they see fit - we don't get a report back on how our sponsorship money is spent.

We do it to support our Club and be more involved and to have the enjoyment of being involved in a player sponsorship. I guess it also means we can call that particular player 'ours'! We get tickets to different events during the year along with a signed guernsey which are all raffled off.

Hope that helps,
Marg
