Let's not get into a big discussion trying to justify who goes, and who doesn't go.
What we are talking about here is the fairweather supporter element that each club has. While without a doubt Collingwood has the biggest band of loyal, dedicated supporters of all the Melbourne clubs, it stands to reason that we also have a large band of fairweather supporters, that really only get interested when we're going well. What we are seeing here, is that group of 30,000 people who aren't going cos we're losing most games. If we were on top and Essendon was bottom the tables would be turned, don't worry about that.
Before we start shit canning them, remember that every club has them and they are essential to the revenue of every club.
Besides all that I reckon that we must be doing something right. Bottom of the ladder and highest membership of the VIc Clubs is a pretty good achievement.
