I heard that one too Don
What drugs are they on down there ?
Benny Mathews has been one of our best this year and freakking Paul Williams is just another low-grade plodder who looks good because his teamates are even worse than he is !!!
Anyone but Paul Williams PUH-LEEZE !
With alot of other good players on the market I just can't believe we are transfixed by someone like Williams.

and
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I thought the days were long gone when the rest of the AFL looked upon Sydney as a retirement home where ageing players go to run down the clock on their careers and earn a nice little nest egg while they are at it.
Evidently not - think about guys like Scott Russell, Brett Allison and that bloody Dermott Brereton (1994)
See a pattern here ? - a pattern to be reapeated if we chuck away some of our best players to get somebody like Paul Williams.
He won't take us seriously, he won't put in the hard work, he won't like the 'footy-less' NSW lifestyle, he will just treat this as a exercise in 'cruise and collect'
I don't want my club blowing my money on this kind of nonsense - I thought we had learned.

ok folks some one give me 5 good football reasons
why we should keep paul williams.
maybe im out of touch and know nothing about football
if you can give me 5 good reasons i will reconsider my opinion
on him.
remember he has been there since 1991
has he won a brownlow
has he won a copeland
how many games in the last 2 years has he been judged best afield
would he be considered on form to be our next captain.
we have one champion=nathan buckley
is p williams as good as nathan buckley
is he as consistent as nathan buckley.
ok let me know.

that deal could be good for us you know, if you let the fact that willo plays for collingwood get in the way then of course you are not going to want him to go. mathews sounds like he will be a good player in the future and with the draft pick we can get another young possible star - for the future. the future is what we are playing for, season 2000 has been our best recruiting year for ages (not just cos we got early draft picks) but we need to continue to get young players, yeah willo might be good for a couple more years, but mathews will probably be good for a lot longer and that draft pick could see us get another good player. willo had a good year this year, but he was still very inconsistent. if you weigh it all up i think we should trade him.

Trading Paul Williams will be the biggest mistake ever....
Everyone bags the guy....for having a shit year
Yet he was Collingwoods highest vote getter in the brownlow behind Buckley....
I think we have Tony Shaw to thank for stuffing up another career
Sav Rocca was one
Andrew Schauble another
Paul Williams is the latest
Williams you have given fantastic loyal service to the club.
How the friggern hell do we keep crap like Watson on the list??
There is plenty more crap in our cupboard to get rid of before they should have traded williams.....I feel another dud deal has been brokered by Collingwood.....thanks for nothing
