Graham, Everitt and ..............a couple of new names.

Post by paul »

Coming home from the game today I was listening to MMM. The question of how Collingwood could best use its priority picks was raised (again).

Four names were put forward by Dermie as likely to be available> Graham and Everitt have been discussed before. The others were Neitz and McIntosh. Both apparently are likely to be available at year end. It was stated that McIntosh was unhappy at the Eagles. He would be a risk because of his knees and would be likely to play three years at tops. Neitz would be a senational pick up if he was available. However with Lyon and Viney retiring and Melbourne likely to lose draft picks because of the salary cap breaches, they probably are in a position to pay him quite a sum, and give him a leadership role, to stay.

Later they were interviewing Buckley. His opinion was that the club "didn't need an injection of experience" and should use its draft choices on youth. This has been a fairly consistent line from Buckley over a number of years.

mcintosh would be a decent pickup. if we were to get neitz it'd be superb, but i doubt it.

Paul,
I do think we need another Ruckman. If Everit was available grab him. Monkhorst does need a hand. Most teams have two Ruckmen but poor old Monkey has had to do the lot.Fraser is a fine prospect but will he cut it in his rookie year if we are forunate enough to draft him.
